SOLD Selling my 15 foot bondwood caravan named Ruby. $12500 The van was built in 1952 as one mans dream....there is no other like it. When restored I replaced the axle with an electric braked one, for safety, and it now runs 14" Holden wheels. The roof was 'redoped' with new calico. I deliberately left the interior as built....it is so original in its layout. Has no gas devices. The only nod to moderninity is a 240v bar fridge and a couple of LED lights (hidden in the old light glasses) As was the case when she was built, she is only 6 feet wide, so no stretching in bed if over 5'11". Masses of cupboards as per photos, 80ltr water tank, has an untried awning with wooden poles (no ropes but will try to change that) Van on H plates so consider as unregistered, but permit to move no problem. Towball weight 75 kg Contact Pete on 0408689207 Having trouble downloading photos. Contact me if photos required. Van is also advertised on Gumtree under 'Vintage Caravan 1952 Bondwood'....plenty of photos there. BTW I am in Maitland region

Sincere condolences to Kate and family. Too many memories enjoyed with Maurie and family at many Vintage caravan outings.....and so pleased to have the most recent memory of seeing Maurice and Kate at Belmont in early February. Maurie may be gone but all the great memories will live forever. RIP mate

Clyde.....Looking good. Now for a transfer of information. Do you apply the Q cell mix direct to raw fibreglass, then start the levelling process? I will assume that the van will need to be under cover while working with the fillers and undercoat as it would be quite porous eh? I will try to get around to posting some photos sometime....you wouldn't believe how rough some fibreglass bodies can be...and no it is not a Sunliner!

We are long way from home and just heard the sad news. I was very pleased to catch up with Dennis and Sue at SWR, as Iam sure a lot of people were to have some special time with them I know I will be thinking of them both, for along time yet. I won't go on to repeat all the previous posters comments....it is a great summary of a great life of a great man. RIP mate.

Took a look .......but I don't think it is. The main feature is that it is cast in GREEN fibreglass and has an all fibreglass interior roof lining and O/H cupboards. I will start its own thread when I get the time.....in about 3 months

There are a lot of the Rumbel family still in the Dungog area....they were very prolific. I am looking at alot of similar bits from a Millard and would date her at about 63/64. If you need new hanger bolts for the Jones wheel I can tell you where to go to get them made.....you can't buy them!
