Hi Doug In between wife 1 and wife 2: .. i was taking out a chick that was driving around in a plain jane corolla... she said she was looking at buying a nice Holden.... Thats when i started to like her more... ;D Thinking it would be a 1981 or 82 Commodore i dismissed her announcement with a shrug of the shoulders....and... mmmmm that'll be nice dear. I was sitting at home on my milk crate lounge ( wife 1 deemed she needed the good one when she left) watching telly when she pulled up in the drive with an immaculate HT Monaro..... Dark green with 2 gold stripes over it.. absolutely faultless.... It was during a brief walk around the car when i spotted the "186S"badge.... At the time the 186s monaro was dime a dozen and a LOT cheaper than the V8 Version..... It took me a lot of effort not to ridicule her for buying a lesser version of the marque. I just smiled and said it was nice.... then invited her in for Coffee I have seen Monaros go through ebay as "Garden ornaments"in a LOT worse condition than your car for prices up to $10,000. I wish you well in your search for bits...your gunna need a lot of luck, patience ... and .... money. Regards Reddo

;D ;D Nice little find there Doug At least they do repo guards for the HK T G Not like the HR mate made mine up from 3or4 cause I didn't want glass . Going V8 are we like most or a nice 186S under the bonnet to be different. Try to stick to good orig parts if you can Those Rear ly do they fit Spares are just that. Brian.

Thanks Brian and Reddo I have been looking around for a while for a early Monaro that I wouldn't feel guilty about modifying ... This one is a poverty pack 6 cylinder, Kashmir White and Antique Gold vinyl trim, so fits the bill nicely. Plan is to go Gen 3, and 6 speed, with stock body. It will be quite a while till its even started, but its nice to know its there waiting for me ;D ;D ;D Will spend some time trawling about for parts at (semi) sensible prices, the good thing about my plan is that I will "only" need to find body panels and trim, under the skin I am happy to modify away! Cheers Doug.
