G'day jamesandbel, Say what??!! Mate, at the rate you've been going, "slowly" doesn't even come close. Slowly is buying two vans six years ago, and only starting to do something with one of them this year! I was one of probably a number of people who thought you would never get this resto happening. I could picture you dismantling the van and then going "Now wtf do I do?!" Every morning I now eat a little bit more of my hat (tomato sauce helps ) as I watch you speed through getting this van sorted out. Nup, you certainly can't use the word "slowly". That would be insulting to those of us who really know how to stretch a project out. I've always admired people on this forum who can create a silk purse out of a sow's ear in just a few months. Heck, it takes me three months just to think about what the job might involve! Congratulations on the amazing job you've done in such a SHORT TIME! (...you make me sick! ) cheers, Al.

Hi Al, thanks for the reply. We are taking pride in what we do, our main aim is to get to the stage where we can use it, with the the least amount of cost involved. At the moment we are looking pretty good with our budget, including purchasing the van, hire of car trailer, we have spent just under $600. cant complaint about that.

Hi there
Since newly joining the forum due to only recently having purchased a 1960's Harris Caravan (South Australia). I've been on the search for photos and info of the Harris vans... and it now appears that your "Fulcher" is the exact same design! No-one as yet has posted any photos of the same Harris age/design.
I have now put an album up and in the midst of restoring my little gem, so you're welcome to have a look.
Just wondering what the floor dimensions of your Fulcher is???
Kind regards Robyn

Hi All, Sorry we have not been on for a while, we have been pretty busy, and have not gone too much further yet with the van. we have been waiting to get the $$$ together for the eleco, to come and put earth leaking switch, and all ne double pole switches in the van, but the wife's car had to have some work done, which ended up useing the money we had for the eleco. we went camping this week in our tent, which turned out bad with wet weather, and we ended up staying in a cabin, but we have now made decision to sell the tent and other ger and put all our effort into the van, hopefully to be ready for christmas. Here are some more pics of where we are at. fixed both ends to the chassis insulation wrap stapled on will put batts in after eleco has done hos work.

Hi jamesandbel Your windows look wonderful, and you're certainly getting towards the business end of being able to recommission your Harris! Have you got a vacation planned? You'd make a Christmas holiday with time to spare at the pace you're setting. I remember your first post back in October last year, when the poor old Fulcher's girl came home on the back of a truck and with no bottom and then promptly lost her front, and most of the sides as well - it certainly looked grim for her then. But you saw her potential and persisted. I've really enjoyed seeing her coming back together, with the new wall structures, kitchen and refitted interior, and windows. I'm looking forward to how you finish her up - will she keep her Fulcher's signwriting? Just wanted to take the time to say that your hard work is inspiring, and to offer you sincere congratulations for your patience and persistance with this lovely old van. Cheers Seeshell

G'day jamesandbel, I hope you post a photo or two of the van when she's alltogetheragain before you paint it (if that is what you are going to do) so I can take it up to Fulchers and show them what a great job you have done giving their old van new life. To be furely frank, when you started this project I couldn't see you finishing it but.......... you really are an inspiration to anybody who thinks it can't be done, congratulations Cobber.

Hi All,
Seeshell and Humpyboy, we will be painting over the signwriting on the van, we are debating what colour we want to paint her both inside and out, we did inherit some old orange tupperware not long ago which will look great inside the van.
Cobber, I will be sure to take some more shots along the way which you are more then happy to take to Fulchers and show them, I am still waiting to see if anyone has any photos of our van sitting on the shipping container at wentworthville.
more pogress to come, see how we go over the coming weeks

G'day James and Bel, Congrats on the nice work. You have inspired me to rip into mine. I saw this van for sale and was tempted, it is nice to see it has gone to a good home. I wish I had a patio as I am fighting the weather (especially today), keep up the good work. I am following your post intently. Cheers Nugget
