G'day Dave,
Some nice vintage pics there. Judging from the shape of the van and the shape of the nameplate on the rear, I'm guessing that the van is a Hawthorn badged Rowvan. Does that ring any bells for your friend?
The 'Vanguard' in your second post looks a bit strange. Looks as if it has decided to go to a fancy dress party in a Morris Oxford disguise... ;D ;D ;D

...if any one is interested in more photos. Dave, We're always interested in more photos! Particularly when they're vintage photos. Re Hawthorn and Rowvan - sometime around 1956 or a bit later, Hawthorn stopped building their own vans and began to put their badges on vans sourced from other manufacturers, one of which was Rowvan. Your friend's van looks like one of the latter. There's a bit more info - but not much - on the Hawthorn thread in DHL... But here's a bit of a coincidence for you - if you read through the Hawthorn thread, you'll find that your friend's Hawthorn was owned for a while by KB3 who now uses the forum name Chev51. Talk about six degrees of separation - or less!! Don Ricardo

Hello Mark,
yes a member still has a Vanguard and Van, thats me , not that the Vanguard looks that good at the moment, new paint job on horizon and some work required on van.
Olfarts, the car in you picture is either a 1958 or 59 model Vanguard, 4 cylinder model.
