Hi, My husband and I are new to the site and were hoping if anyone knew of a 1960's fibreglass Olympic Caravan for sale in SA. If anyone knows of one please contact my husband Rob on 0417 819229. Does not need to be in pristine condition. Many thanks people.

Hi! I have an OLYMPIC RIVIERA for sale - 1964 or 1968, 16 foot. Inside has been gutted, ready for renovation, but sadly, I don't have the skills, or tools (or friends with skills or tools!) to do it up myself. Van is in Reservoir, Melbourne. Van would need to be transported on a truck, as I'm not sure about the brakes and the brake lights definitely don't work.
Van shell is good - no leaks, as I've been checking inside regularly in the storms recently. Would be a great project if you had the right tools and skills. Unregistered and no number plates, so easy to do so in South Australia.
Email me if you want further information: info@flashinthecan.com.au
Cheers!

Many thanks for the previous replies but we have found one at last. Will keep you posted once we pick it up. Can anyone tell me please what the correct height is of an Olympic Riviera / Contessa with its standard wheels? We need to do some mods to the Garage before it goes under cover. Also does anyone know what the water tanks are made of - I'm guessing Fibreglass, does the water taste tainted! One last thing, can you get the front window shields that protect it from stone damage or is there other brands which may suit? If anyone has a second hand one for sale I would be interested. Thanks

Hey Glad to hear you have found an Olympic As far as height goes Mine seems to be about 2.6 metres high or slightly less.
The water tank in mine a 1968 model is plastic.
A modern front awning can be bought through caravansplus if all else fails.
Cheers Atog

Thanks Atog. Purchased the Olympic on Gumtree yesterday , is a Debonair , not a 16 footer , thanks again , almost got one from down the road in worse condition for the same price , this one is far beter , has put me miles ahead than if I had got the local one , worth the drive to Brisbane. Thanks. Stu.
