Its works a treat, but its black & white, I think we've been ripped off , coz I think they've been making colour colour teles for alotta years now Its a 1957 Astor .......tis a bit old I guess, but it'll have to do until we can afford something better ....... ;D ;D ;D

Your really pathetic Mark...you just can't help yourself can you. You're like the "Power House Museum" here in Sydney, they collect all that sort of junk...why don't you start a museum? You have provoked me into putting a couple of my items from the 30s into "memorabilia" ... hang on, just got to take the photos. Nice TV by-the-way, and it works Cobber.

Cobber says ....."Your really pathetic Mark...you just can't help yourself can you." Cobber ........I'm not the one who walked out of a junk shop in Beverley last year with a large, bulky, heavy, chunky 15kg 1930's pressure cooker under my arm, that I had to somehow pack in my suitcase for the flight home to Sydney ;D ;D ;D woops .....I think I've just broken my own "forum decorum" ....this is bantering between two people isn't it ;D ;D

Hi Mark yep... i think you have been ripped off . The bloke down the corner garage has an identical Astor to that... he used it to do a diagnostic tune up on my old holdne ute last week. Maybe... just maybe... if he twiddled with the "horizontal hold" and "contrast" he might have come up with a coloured picture of the ute as well as a picture of the dwell angle and timing advance curve. have a look on the back of your "bargain" and see if its got an outlet for the exhaust analysis. Oh bye the way... "Glenn" has taken the day orf and Reddos back on line . Quote of the day: "There is a fine line when your online betwen being out of line or just fine"

I've seen about five of them right here in Sydney since Cobber.

When there is nothing on TV you can always listen to your Astor transistor radio in matching colours. Cheers, David

Hi David,
Do you know the age of that Astor Trannie? I looked at one at a market on the weekend, but the guy knew nothing much about it except that he wanted $60 for it. Cheers, Mark

Okay guys vintage vanning means no tv but if ya need one for the kids or for the footy and you have not got a powered site like kero alley at Coledale you need 12volt dc.This 12v and 240v tv i got in the late 70s and I would like to watch prisoner on it at 9.30pm 0n a Thursday just hoping B Smith was goning to stick someones head under the press. So i dusted it off to bring to Coledale 2006 when i realised it was only vhf and could only pickup Sydney channels and not Wollongong stations that are uhf.So for the travelling vv it was no good just like many old tvs just one band. So to fix this problem I scored this tv from a garage sale for $3 that works any where I travel and is 240v and 12v with external antenna socket radio and cassette. Im sure there is some new laptop modern style way but this rig does me for $3 Cheers Dave......Thursday 9.30pm timeslot is now the footy show

Mark, I've got nothing definite on the age of the transistor radio. I am assuming its from the 60's from the look of it. There is probably a way to check which stations are listed/not listed on the dial to get some more definite date. At present it has no battery and is for looks only, but I will see if I can get it working. Cheers, David
