The resto continues. The steel cladding has gone and we found an interesting way to put a step in for the rear window. When we sanded some of the ply we found what looks like a thin layer of masonite as part of the ply dab2

Hi Dbar. Looks more like natural timber after the top coat & primer has been sanded off. Also looks like the roof line shape has been altered judging by the curved metal angle & the added gusset. cheers gordon

Thanks Gordon The gusset was added top and bottom of tbe rear window with aluminium angle and a wooden gusset when the steel cladding was put on. After sanding the pink primer off a fine grain masonite type of veneer is left cheers Charlie

G'day Charlie, Are you sure that is just a thin layer over the ply..... it looks very much like the ply I have on the Swamp van.... which is a plywood manufactured back in the 50's and 60's called "Reswood".... good stuff, don't sand it back too hard if that is what you have. Cobber.

G,day people some more progress on the Re-Lax. We removed the sheet ofsteel from the of the van to find that the ply had already gone.We also found some water damage and some wood that gone soft and furry We are going to replace the panel from the door to the front and the same on the other side and do away with the corner windows to bring it back to what it should be. charlie
