G'Day Vintage Vanites
Sometime back there was some discussion about Bumper/window stickers to promote this site. From memory several designs where thrown up. Most revolved around Marks design that is used for the site. I for one would buy a few and definitely be proud to display em on the old cars and van. Would be a great way to promo this site and steer others into signing up.
Mark Can you tell me where we are up to with this.??

yeah ......I agree ....its time we got these stickers done.
The fundraising I did a few months ago wasn't that successful, but did pay for additions to the forum (two new boards) plus a sum towards the ongoing website costs.
If you guys want to contribute towards the cost of the stickers, Ditzy & I will organise them.
Mark

Mark, Sell the stickers at a good profit, the money goes into the kitty for web site maintenance, and you can put me down for a few. If stickers work as well as I think they should--next stop "T" shirts??? Cobber

G'Day The Ditzy One. Now look what you've done. All that mowing, painting, washing, ironing, vacuming, cooking & nagging has driven Mark to a point of collapse / hospitalisation:-[ Perhaps now you will let him out in the yard to play with his/your cars and vans more often. Dr Reddo prescribes this type of activity for anyone recovering from a bout of "Henpeckin" ;D Seriously though Ditzy I hope all is OK and Mark makes a full recovery. Tell him all the loonies on the site wish him well but we won't be sending flowers. Dr Reddo - Phd, Bsc, & Mad. "Degrees made to order" - send stamped self addressed envelope and $49.99 to Reddo C/- Locked Cell No:123 H.M.P. Long Bay Gaol - NSW or email: reddo@permanentylockedup.com

Hey Mark I have been talking to the Signwriters here at work. They have a computer based system that can do just about anything with vinyl stickers. They use it for making all of the local council signs etc. I have had a few stickers for my bikes made up in the past and they are exact replicas of the originals ( Copyrights who said anything about copyrights). With your permission i will steer them onto the website and get them to make up a sticker as per the site heading with the Holden and the van plus the wording as is. Or if there is any changes could you send them to me. If they can reproduce them I will get them to knock out about 100 then spend a weeks worth of lunch breaks over in thier shop cutting the stickers out of the sheet they come through the printing machine on. It'll probably cost me a carton but thats bugger all and will be my contribution to the vintage vanning scene. Hopefully i will know if the plan is a goer by mid week. Might even see if i can get a few dozen "NSW Vintage Caravan Rally - Coledale 2005" . All depends what sorta mood the boys are in. Monday mornings can be a bit of a downer.....How's the song go " I don't like Mondays..... Cheers Reddo yeah ......I agree ....its time we got these stickers done. Hey Mark Are you and Ditzy "blueing!!" Dont tell me you two have stopped talking to each other and have slumped to sending messages to each other via this site. I find it much better to write your message in texta on a plate or fry pan and then throw 'em at each other. Improves the reflexes and cuts down on the wiping up....... doesnt do much for the gyprock or your forehead if one of the plates score a direct hit!!! Or was your message intended to get a rocket under me to chase the signwriters here at work for the stickers. ? If it was then ya gotta understand that this is local gummint and nothing happens overnight ( not even foriegn orders). My main man has been having a bit of time off lately with building a new house . Will try and explain to him that the stickers are more important than his new house and he needs to get his priorities right. I noticed somewhere on this list there was mention of dropping the "www.vintagecaravans.com" off the sticker. Is this right or not??? I thought the intension of the sticker was to draw peoples attention to the site ... yes/No. I have emailed him the letterhead from the site so i hope that is what we want. ? lemme know if it isn't and i will sort it out. Now if ya will excuse me i am heading off for a 2 hour smoko break Reddo@verycasual

Reddo, Ditzy & Will are organising stickers .....refer to Wills post of last week: ....quote Will: "The stickers have been discussed and will remain original with no www.as cobber and Jim put forward, and Ditzy is arranging the artwork and supply. We are adopting Jailbars suggestion that the stickers cost $20.00 each plus postage. At this moment the thoughts are they will cost around $8.00 each and $12.00 dollars will go to the forum costs and further expansion at a later date" So, they should be under production soon .....thanks anyway for the offer of having them done. They will feature the current logo, & the text will be "vintagecaravans.com", ie, no "WWW". Cheers Mark

;D ;D ;D Hi vintage Vanners Busy days ahead Just got my big rims and Tyres for the Effy it looks great I will post a photo soon I am taking Trevs Tram on the run because of the extra room in that van and Lyns the Boss so thats final so she says I wanted to take Elvis(RITZY) I think Mark and Ditz are taking (DITZY) by the way one thing I havent seen on the yank sites are theme vans has anyone else seen any? Aussies win again another first YEA but I Agree with you Guys Mark and Reddo When the Yanks do it they do it big some of those Massive Airsteams are unbelievable sites Imagine the work Maintaining those incredible shines They certaintly value things of a past era which is just fantastic When we had a discussion earlier on in the piece a few people were for www. in front of the name and some werent I think Trevor posted his nomination which was that Mark had done a good job so far so so he felt that we will let Mark decide which way it would go I was for the www dot originally but most people use google in australia so even vintage caravans.com comes up on the search engine which just requires an extra click I think what Cobber and Jim were thinking was trying to keep the original look of the logo I had a quote to make up a small amount of stickers Reddo some thing like 50 and as you know the smaller the amount the greater the cost and having no contacts in the printing business I was subject to a small run price so that where the 8 dollars came in As promised I donated two hundred dollars to kick off this important next step for the future of our group However A few cartons or slabs sounds even better so perhaps once ditzy has the artwork done she can handball it to you Reddo Ditzy knows of some girls that do Airbrush art and has already had some shirts made I think that Ditzy was saying if we send a photo to these girls they will paint your van with its characteristics on to the shirt the ones Ive seen are excellent So ditzy has that being organised with the artists hoping they will be able to handle it for us she will know soon Any how not long and the good old PUB run er I mean flower run is on Happy Birthday on your 40th Ditzy Will and Lyn

Okey Dokey Mr Pooh Bah. Just make sure the stickers aren't too big. The Roovan is only 9'6" long. Can you make 'em 8 foot wide so i can use one as an annexe ? How cool would that look. Oh and make sure it got a picture of a proper vintage van ......plywood that is!!! , Not some ostrich eggliner or aluminium esky on wheels of some sorts. There now that should start a bung fight eh... Sorry fellas , i have just dusted off another flagon of JBJ and have grown 10 foot tall and bullet proof. Reddo

Hey Juicy Glad to hear ya made it home from O/S without getting put in some pot and made into stew. Lemme tellya there is no substitute for the JBJ. .... Hic Its 8.30pm midweek and i have about 20 or so 16 year olds running amuck in the back yard. They have had "Band practice" since 11 this morning. Poor Trish . Its our son Joels ( the drummer) birthday and he has been smackin the skins since 10 this morning. I have just finished cookin a BBQ for 'em and settled down to a qiuet drink while listening to Deep Purples "Smoke on the water". I think its the juice that keeps me sane in times like this. On a brighter note i think 2 of the rottweillers next door have burst thier eardrums. Anyway mate good to see ya back in OZ Reddo - jeez ya should see the girlies. They weren't built like that when i went to school Hic, burp, fart.... aaaayyy do ya play requests
