It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Arthur Pullin last Thursday 19th November. For those unfamiliar with Arthur, together with his wife Pat,he was one of the earliest RACV Caravan Club members , and a legend of caravanning in Australia. He & his wife Pat, both aged 103, were one of the worlds oldest surviving married couples. To Pat & Family, our thoughts are with you on the loss of this great man. tributes.heraldsun.com.au/obituaries/heraldsun-au/obituary.aspx?n=arthur-james-pullin&pid=136177878Mark

That is sad news Mark. They were an inspiration not only to we younger caravanning folk but also to those of us who have been married for what seems like a long time.... Pat and Arthur had been happily married for 72 years. Remember that great article in Caravanning and RVing in Australia about the couple in January this year ?. Cobber.

Hi Folks
Arthur's funeral is Thursday 1pm at Korumburra.
He and Pat achieved some bench marks that many of us will never achieve.
He will be missed by many

Hi Mark Only just spotted this post. Really sorry to hear old Arthur has passed away. There has been many articles about Arthur and his missus over the years here on the forum. Will be a long time before thier feats in caravaning will be matched. A legend lost. Reddo

Hi Mark,
Thanks for posting the sad news about Arthur Pullin. You mentioned back in early 2008 that they had only just sold their last of several vans the year previously - when they were each 101 - and that Arthur's new hobby was playing the stockmarket on his computer...
What a legend, and what an inspiration!!

Hi Mark,
Sorry to hear the sad news.
All I can say is what an inspiration Arthur & Pat are to all, I hope I am as "with it" as they are at their ages.

Hi Mark,
A couple of lovely articles about Arthur.
I think the pic shown is of Arthur's first caravan "Joker" though, not "Joker II" as the caption says?

Really beaut to read of Arthur & his wife Pat & what they achieved in life, a lovely story, something we all aspire to.
Mark, you once wrote about "Joker", & said ' Years ago I discounted the possibility finding Arthur Pullin's original caravan named "Joker" .......now I'm rethinking'
I would love to know more about his vans. Thanks for the insight to some of his life.

it is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Pat Pullin. For those unfamiliar with Pat, together with her husband Arthur (deceased 2009), she was one of the earliest RACV Caravan Club members , and both were legends of caravanning in Australia. Pat Pullen was aged 104. To the Pullin family, our thoughts are with you on the loss of this wonderful woman. I had the pleasure of meeting Pat & Arthur at Warwick QLD in December 1998, when they were on one of their many caravanning trips in Joker 11. Pat standing in the doorway of Joker 11 c1958 Arthur & Pat with Joker 11 C1998 They may now both be R I P, but their much used & loved caravan Joker 11 remains untouched, & safely stored in the Beverley shed .
