Hi All,
On the Queens Birthday long weekend my wife and I made the trek from Adelaide to Bendigo for the 20th FB/EK Nationals. It was a great turnout for the clubs and fortunately for me there was also a number of Vintage Caravans on display.
Below are some of the Vans I spotted at the FB/EK show and Shine when I was there....
I could see this van in the distance when I was checking out the cars and thought cool a Sportline, Urkel will be pleased but it turned out to be a Sandrover.
All three of the vans were owned by 2 brothers Joe and Tony who are both part of this awesome site. All were simply stunning examples and the attention to detail was staggering, Hopefully next year my van can join them in the line up, the more the better I say!
The next couple were fellow travellers staying at the same caravan park as us...
This was one cool rig the car is a 1934 Plymouth and the main shell was made by Holden and even had a little tag on it saying something like body by holden and had the lion on it. The caravan looked alot like my little buried treasure with the general shape but looked a little shorter in length than Berry.
And finally "Jezebel" which is in the naughty corner for loosing her head...
Hope you all enjoy seeing these pics. It was really good to see the interest in the vans at the show and shine and also how friendly all the vintage van owners were.
Unfortunately the weekend was not without hiccups and we lost our roof hutch on the way over to the nationals, it was there at Keith, pretty sure it was there at Nihill but when we stopped for fuel at Donlad it was gone we then had a 2.4m skylight. Great in summer... not so good in the middle of winter. A bit of black plastic kept us dry for the weekend luckly and we attempt to build a new one it shortly.
