When replacing the roof, we found a stamp of the manufacturers of the ply. Also stamped in the kitchen cupboard. It reads: MOISTURE RESISTANT WRESPLY BROWN AND BROAD LTD. We googled this company and it said that it was around from 1913 - 1940, which makes this van older than we think This photo is of the galvanised metal which makes up the inside of the wheel arch. at the bottom of the wardrobe. Went exploring inside the cupboards and found a very old unopened box of mosquito coils, in very good condition. Might come in handy seeing we don't have any screens in the van. Regards dosse

I am so excited to see your comment on the wresply. (I'm so excited I have goosebumps) I have been trying to date my bondwood (with not much luck) and found a wresply stamp inside the front seat this morning, I was thinking my van is a skyline 57-59 kit but if I have a wresply stamp would that suggest that it is a bit older than originally thought? I'm so lost. Who wants to come and date my van for me ? ? pleeeease!!

G'day Janeyb, It's interesting you found Dosse's thread with the Brown & Broad stamp on it when we have a whole thread devoted to Plywood trade marks which, admittedly, as yet doesn't give many answers as to when most plywood brands started and finished, we keep working on it..... intermittently, it needs more effort put into it As for dating your van ? We need to look at photos, over and over The thread you posted 'Please Help Me Identify My Van ' you will note has lost all the photos. This happens if you remove the photos from the host site (photobucket ?) Put 'em back and we'll keep looking until, one day, the penny might drop. Cobber.
