Since mentioning vintage vacations earlier today i have had time to have a closer look at the site. My god .... the mind boggles when you look at the restos they have undertaken. I want a polished aluminium 1946 spartan manor with wrap around kitchen or maybe a 1977 Airfloat Navigator might be the go for someone who is into portholes .... at least 4 down each side. If you are into big and polished alloy then these are for you. They have a list of every brand of van produced in America since 1925. It includes Castle vans.
Retro !!! wheres Retro he'll love it. shows full restorations with before nad after shots.
Anyway i am heading back to the drool bucket.

"Vintage Vacations" is the American site that inspired me to start the equivalant Australian website .......I've been watching the site since year 2000. The pics of their "2004 Spring Rally" are unreal, they have some fantastic looking cars & caravans .....woops travel trailers. I love the combination of the silver ali and paint on some of the vans. Did you see the twin chromed gas bottles on the 1955 Siesta .....the yanks love their chrome. Mark

Here's the link to the MSN Group connected to Vintage Vacations. groups.msn.com/VintageVacationsantiquetraveltrailertalk/messageboard.msnwHave a look at the 25 pages of pictures if you want to see what's going on over here in the vintage world. The group had to start a second picture page because the first one was filled up. Some of us don't care for chrome at all! ;D

Yeah mark Once i google searched and found your vintagecaravans.com i put it in my "favourites" and have never bothered going back and having a look at what else was on offer. Did so yesterday and was amazed at the Vintage vacation site. I had seen the other American site that caters for airstream etc with the van park . I think someone put up a hyperlink at some stage over the past 12 months. I Seen the bottles on the siesta. I was thinking maybe mounting a coupla highly polished stainless steel post mix cordial kegs on the draw bar of my van and running a 12 volt pump or foot operated pump to pump water up to the sink. The bottles would look a bit like gas bottles but would be holding water. Sure would cure the rusty water problem i am having with the original wall mounted galvo water tank. Some of those vans are monstorous. I can see why they made thier V8s so big. couple one of those 30 footers to a big Lincon, Caddy or Pontiac and the whole show would end up over 50 foot long!!! would have to book 3 sites at a van park to fit it all on Yep I am impressed.... HOWEVER. i still think we have a great site and no matter what the build or do they will never be as lucky as we are to live in a land with no border restrictions where we are free to head wherever we please whenever we please .( for now) Australia ... Not bigger ... Just Better!!! Geez i hope George W Bush aint readin' this. Next thing ya know we will have B52s over Barnsley. God Damn Seargant Dan.....Shut Up Gump!!!
