Hi Neil and Cheryl,
Thanks for the update on your GORGEOUS Roadmaster, you certainly are diong it all with the view of doing it well. Cant wait to see this van "in the flesh" so keeping our fingers crossed you have it ready for the "Mingle in May". The Roadmasters of round the 1960 era really are a work of art, glad to see such loving care go into this one's resto.
Cheers retro64

I,m right for sealant thanks Lindsay, and it should be there for Mingle in May. Didn't get much more done last weekend but we did finish painting the cupboard doors and re-fit them during the week. Got the colour very close to the originl colour and happy with how it turned out. Fitting windows and more trim this weekend Neil

Hi Neil and Cheryl,
That looks great. Very nice subtle colours.
We've decided , after spending a lot of effort cleaning original paint, to repaint Deejay inside, in the original colours. I reckon if we take our time it will be finished for Cooli Rocks On weekend.
Youre setting a high standard for us to follow.

Thanks Dennis I've no doubt you will easily meet the standards I've set but thanks for the compliment. I'm looking forward to checking it out next time we meet which is probably at Coolie Rocks. We can't make the next Lennox Head run. Good news that Lucille sold and the new owner may join in on our runs.
Hi Bannos. It should be at the Mingle. If all goes according to plan we should be registering the Roadmaster Thursday and will be going away for two weeks in it at Mooloolaba.

Some more progress today Have all the hinged windows fitted And fitted the front fixed corner windows back in Used poly carbonate for the front curved windows. Easy to bend and won't break. Can hit it with a hammer they reckon. Hopefully the remaining trim outside will be fitted tomorrow and the door. Neil

Thanks Bob and Jacqui, shouldn't be too long before you see it now. The bottom of the entry door had swollen and when I removed the alloy sheet I found MDF had been used for a previous repair job. I removed the MDF and cleaned the damaged area then glued a piece of Marine Ply in place Leaving that to set today so got some more interior in place Getting new tyres tomorrow and re-fitting the door tomorrow night Till then, Neil

Hi Guys, The windows and corners have come up a treat. You have to wonder why new vans aren't made open and airy like this, I just love it. (I guess the European ones coming in have this look) Can't wait to see it decked out and ready for the beach. Busy week ahead for you guys, then comes the R & R.. Of course R & R can be dangerous, gives you too much time to dream, think and plan the next VV. Cheers, Smiley x 2

Hi Neilandcheryl
Your Roadmaster looks beautiful from the highly polished interior to the beautiful new panoramic windows. They are a very pretty van, particularly with the beamed ceiling.
A credit!

Thanks all for the comments. Well Geoff 'n Jude, we have been away a couple of times in it now and haven't had anyone wanting to swap with their modern although many photos have been taken. Next year the ford should make an entrance Effy. I have had a bit of a play with that project Ray but have been spending most of my spare time on the ford. Shall get some pics and put them up of both

Great Pictures guys. Did you use the outer skin as a template for the strapping? We did it wrong and he to start again.

Yes we did shazron On page one of this thread in the first few photos it shows what was done, using the outside sheet as a template and marking it on a sheet of thick ply.
