Hey Impala,
Labour day is in early March, I suggested Badger Creek in late May.
Sorry Don257, I sorta left you off the list. Do you think we can do a Cowes sometime either before or after the Labour day one. Do you think we can get in at Cowes for Australia Day weekend,( Aust Day falls on a Monday).
Gee, I had better pull my finger out and get the Clipper done!
cheers, Leigh.

Anywhere is good for us. Maybe there could be difficulties booking on a long weekend especially at the more popular places.

The good news is that we have just received advice from our travel agent that our booking for a 3 week cruise to Shanghai, has now been confirmed.
The bad news is that we depart on 7th March (Labour Day Long Weekend).

Hi Max,
you might say your V V plans for Labour Day have been Shanghai'd!
I am sure we can organise the Blairgowrie w/e to suit when you are around. (cant miss that Barby you offered)
Have a great trip anyway,
cheers, Leigh.

Leigh,
I was tempted to cancel the 3 week Shanghai cruise in lieu of 3-4 days in the Globe Trotter ... but Jan muttered something about "divorce proceedings"? Thanks for your good wishes.

Thats fine D & V,
I only thought if we booked far enough ahead we might be able to swing it.
You guys pick a date (early Feb, perhaps the w/e after Australia day if you think that one cant be done) and all of us sheep will come a following along!
thanks for your input, Leigh.

Hello, another place that might be worth a look is Creswick, (just out of Ballarat) good caravan park, amenities fine, nice little town to wander around couple of pubs with good meals. ( We stayed there last year would stay there again) Regards Shane

Geez, I'm dizzy.. Might i suggest that someone summarise all that.. I hadn't been back to this thread for a bit and now i'm just confused.. Mind you that's not been hard to do lately... Ooooo, I had just had a 'moment' and a flash of brilliance... Gimme a bit and I'll test something and spill the beans if it turns out that I'm cleverer than i look.... Cheers Chris

Ok, so I'm back... How quick was that? Turns out I AM cleverer than I thought... This isn't related specifically to this thread, but might just be an easy way for everyone to track event dates... I'm hoping many of you would be familiar with the VV location maps I created and maintain...? Well, I worked out that I can do the same sort of thing as a calendar of events.. Whatta ya reckon? I'll put this up for general discussion in other areas... Cheers Chris

Hey Chris,
If you are a little confused have a look back at page 2, reply 23 and 25.
It basically summarises the 5 areas and the 5 basic times we are looking into.
We are just waiting for confirmation from the people looking into each one to get back with a definite place and date.
Over to you Don257, Impala, f/f, Don Ricardo and Cuz.
Any problems let us know so we can sort out an alternative.
cheers, Leigh.

Hi guys, don't wanna go throwing spanners, but if your considering an 'east, west and central/north event, and wanna go to new places then why Blairgowrie for 'east'....isn't it south? What about considering Wilsons Promontory, or somewhere else along that piece of coast? Personally the prom is spot on, nice river beach and surf beach and plenty of bush walks for anyone who likes that. And the scenery on the drive in is absolutely spectacular! Just a thought. On a personal note Blairgowrie is similar distance for me, and I've never been there. On a lazy note, Paradise Beach, Seacombe or Paynesville are all within 1.5hr drive ;D. I also know a large park, well priced, on the lake in the Paynesville area that permits camp fires.....which to me are mandatory! Hmmm, looks like I've run out of spanners, or are they about to be thrown back at me. Gristy

Hey Gristy, I am going to look into Blairgowrie as soon as I get a chance for either the 1st March weekend, or the one before, as that is before the owner of the BBQ offer goes away Cruising , but Paynesville sounds good too. I think that we need to know where VV's want to go. Impala

Hi Gristy,
I agree that Blairgowrie isnt East. The East I was thinking of was the Badger Creek at Healesville. I think that one is East, well its East of me.
I suggested Shallow Inlet as a possible also.
I think we need to just name a date and place and do it.
As long as we spread ourselves around and dont tread on each others toes it should work fine.

Hope the move goes well guys. Gristy, I just looked at the Paynesville pictures on the Fibreglass rarity thread. What a top looking spot, would be even better with a bunch of V V's in attendance. As Impala is looking at late Feb or early March for Blairgowrie do you think we could get in at Paynesville for late January or is it too late (gee, only 2 weeks to xmas, that makes it around 6 weeks till the end of Jan.) One other option (if we cant get the long weekend in March) is to do Paynesville in February and do Blairgowrie at the end of March (when Winterwood is back). Come to think of it either place at either time would work well. Now I have said all that I will let Gristy and Impala fight it out. cheers, Leigh.

Hey Guys, If you like, I will look into Blairgowrie for late March, and we can do Paynesville in late Feb. We cant do late Jan, as we will be in Tamworth, and would hate to miss out on a VV weekend. Also, if D & V are unable to do Cowes, maybe we could do that too for mid to late April Impala

Oooh, Gristy, i just found a bigger spanner... Blairgowrie isn't East for you, but it is technically East for some people, like those in Torquay.. ;D Oh and as for lazy, I'd win the award... Blairgowrie is only 40 mins from home... Not helpful, I know, but hey, I like the sound of all of them so far..

In my reply #27, I mentioned that we leave on 7th March for Shanghai and are away for 3 and a bit weeks. The actual date of return is 30th March, which means that unfortunately we will not be available for any V V activities during this period.
