Im happy to say Vin vanners that Cousin Reddo started a fantastic concept in Vintage vanning this year by establishing a link with Our group vintagecaravans.com and a charity organization Reddo Lyn mark and I feel that being the lucky people in Australia having the opportunities we have been blessed with health happiness and the ability to see our magnificent Country of Australia in a unique brotherhood in such a unique way We would like to see Reddos brilliant Idea expanded on and make a commitment to help those people who have less than us in many ways a regular annual basis Lyn and I have recorded professionaly in a studio the songs that were featured at Macs Hotel in Mt Gambier we Have decided to donate the album to Reddos charity on behalf of this fantastic group of people which make up the Vintage caravans.com the Album consists of songs made famous by artists such as Gene Pitney Elvis presley Neil diamond Barbara streisand Rolling stones and many more rock and country artists early 50s and 60s ballads and duets Lyn and I have covered all the costs of recording packaging and wish to offer the album at a cost of ten dollars plus postage which will be donated to Apex and handed over on behalf of Vintagecaravans.com if any one who attended wishes to purchase this one off Album titled MACS HOTEL this only a mock up label best of the 50s please add your name to this thread whether you attended MACS HOTEL or not this will be a long keeping Memento of a fantastic National meeting at a fantastic destination namely Mt Gambier Im sure all who attended got some laughs and had a fun night if you did then lets dig in and make the Vin Vanners a credible group of caring Aussie contributors to Reddos and the Vin vanners of australias favourite charity Will and Lyn

Hi Will and Lynn Apex was chosen after a bit of discussion on the forum, via phone calls and pms from a few members. Ok ... the idea might have been mine but the final decision to go with Apex was based on consultation with others. I sent a cheque off to Apex when i got home and i recieved a letter of thanks from Apex as well as a reciept for the money. Here comes the twist.... The $105.35 is a donation. As the cheque was sent in my name from my account i am entitled to claim it as a tax deduction. I will be doing nothing and wont be claiming it on my personal tax return.... obviuosly Other issue was the banner that Linda Williams from Apex sent to me via Ipec. It weighed about 10Kg. When i gave it to the courier to drop back in Sydney to Apex i quizzed him if Apex had some sort of exemption from postage . He said"not that i am aware of??" So......If the courier has to be paid for the sending and retrieval of the banner... Just how much of the $105.35 is left in the "piggy bank " at Apex?? Leaves me wandering if the whole exercise was worth while. Our hearts where in the right place ... but the dollars may not be... By that i mean the kids we are trying to help may not see too much of the fruits of our labour by the time costs are taken out of it. Its not Apex's. the couriers or anyone elses fault... its just the logistics of the exercise. Good luck with the CD idea. I dont know what it has cost you guys to get the CD up and running . After looking at my account of what happened with the tour and coledale Apex fund raiser i sorta wander if we arent better of just sending a personal donation of whatever we can afford with a notation that i / we us are a part of the vintage van movement here in OZ. Ya can put me down for one of your CDs I hope the idea catches on and you get a good response. Reddo.

Hi F/F Mate.. i am all for the idea of not bothering with another fundraiser while on tour. Its not that i am a lazy b#st@rd , its just that feelin ya get when ya do something and not all of what is raised is making it to those who need it . As i stated in the other charity related thread here on the forum .. We had issues with the surf club running a fund raiser on the same weekend at Coledale and to avoid any friction between the 2 events we decided to move our collection point up to Daggseys residence...his idea.. thanks daggsey and carrots for "rattling the tin" . With all the socialising and shifting about on the tour i didnt get a chance to do any serious campaigning for apex.. so that idea fell on its bum too. Still we did end up with over $100 in the tin by sunday night at Coledale ... and for that Apex have thanked us. Will and Lynns idea will be easier to manage as we dont have to "stand watch " over the collection tin and the dollars are donated in a more manageable / acknowledgable way. Sorry for sounding a bit negative at the moment.. i have gone off the boil a bit lately. Reddo
