G'day All Just a bit of info on the little township of Canungra situated 90km south of brisy and 35km west of Gold Coast. The name come's from Aboriginal word for small owls, Also home of the Miltary base( Kokoda Barracks). The town's economy depends on tourism and offers eateries, wineries and shops also nestled in the middle of 3 major tourist destination being Mt Tamborine,O'Reillys rainforest retreat and Binna Burra with the Lamington National Park. This is going to be a great venue for our last get-together in 08. Just a quick mention....for those of us not bringing a roast or desert, may I suggest some pre-dinner nibbbly's or savouries. Remember to all bring your own vegies to share with the group. Regards dosse.

Hey Clyde Every time I refer any potential van sharer to the rubik Kube link, I never hear from them again. Starting to wonder if it has anything to do with a certain bum somebody posted on there, and they're afraid to become another victim Seeya there. Dosse ..... do you want me to bring a roast too? Not much good at making desserts, so it may be safer for all concerned . Ray

Hi all, Unfortunately i'm going to be a non starter. I tried various scenarios with regards to flights back to Sydney from both Sunshine Coast and Brisbane and on different days, but nothing worked out. So in this instance I can only presume that it wasn't meant to be. Hope you all have a fantastic time and I look forward to catching up with you all at a later date. Many thanks again to Ray, Dennis and Sue & Clyde and Barb for your lovely offers of help - I owe you. Clyde - as for your offer of a threesome, wouldn't it be a foursome? Don't you already have a threesome with Tally??? Kind regards Diane

hi All ( & Santa 28A)
Twas a great weekend. Thousands of pix were taken by everyone.
I cant post any of mine till the RACQ guy delivers my hot rod & van later today, cause my cameras in the van behind the tilt tray.
But it was fantastic. we had 17 vintage vans, with lots of first timers.
I'm sure the pix will start flowing soon.

Hi JBJ "I cant post any of mine till the RACQ guy delivers my hot rod & van later today, cause my cameras in the van behind the tilt tray"..... Uuuuuuuuuuuuuummmm sounds a bit embarassing Do ya wanna elaborate or is it just too darn embarassing to mention. Hope it is nothing too terminal. I am guessing something in the drivetrain ... gearbox / diff has had a malfunction?? Pictures we want pictures. An insider / informant rang me from up there on saturday arvo and said there was around 18 of you guys there.... sounds like another great weekend. Reddo

G'day Everyone. Well, as Dennis said, a great weekend. Can you believe it... 17 vans. I need to thank everyone who came along and made it a great success, especially my wife and all the girls that participated in making, preparing and serving up our delicious food. Special thanks to Peter, who supervised the camp ovens, Niel, who supplied our firewood, all the woodchoppers, Clyde, our expert meat carver, Earlee, our resident clown and the list goes on... We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful group of vintage vaners' and its great to see the group expanding in numbers Hanging out for our next run already. Regards, dosse

Hi all Well saying that the 9th SE QLD get together was a success would be a understatement. Chatting to everyone a very very good time was had by all and the newbies will all be back. this was our biggest turnout yet, at this rate by the time we get to the 20th we will be booking out caravan parks. Lets face it the turnout was great the company was great the park was great the food was great and a great time was had by all. Including a few men who ended up in one ladies dress ;D The view from the top looking down on all our vans. the girls having a cool swim in the creek. You may notice that one person only has one foot out of the water. They said that they are to short to put both of them out of the water at once. .... We have not quite figured out the logic of this but we all had so much fun ;D ;D sorry we did not take more photos but we were just having such a good time we forgot to get the camera out. Hi All, Got my camera & pictures back with the caravan & Hot Rod. Unfortunately the Hot Rods air suspension let go at the front, with a result of not being able to move it anywhere, let alone drive it. So with the help of a few of the crew that were at Canungra, it was jacked up off the ground, & pulled onto a tilt tray for another NRMA Premium Care tow home, with the van on the Tilt Trays towbar. We got to drive a near new Mitsubishi 380 GT home, which was a bit different to what I normally drive. Bloody good to drive in comfort sometimes. The organised parts of the weekend went well, largely thanks to David & Ilse ( Dosse), along with a bunch of people that did the bulk of the work. ( I must admit that I didn’t do much other than take it easy & let them enjoy themselves.) 17 vans is the best we’ve had up here, & that included 7 or 8 new comer vans. Greg & Wendy’s Baravan is beautiful, like their jailbar. We turned with our Sunliner & jailbar Lovshacks turned up as part of their Cruzinoz tour Ray & Jack( jack russell terrier) rocked in on Thursday with Rubik’s Cube Earlee actually got there early on Thursday with Li’l Bondy, & Sutcac brought Fugly Dosse brought the over rated Don Suzanne & matt brought their teardrop, & parked next to Trevor & julie’s “Lightning McQueen” replica teardrop David & Lyn brought their 16’ 1950 homemade bondy, parked in front of Neil & Cheryl’s Rowvan. There were Olympics of all sizes & models. I apologise for forgetting who owned which one, but it was great to see so many new faces. Pete & Trish brought their Sunliner “ Pearl” down from Bribie Island Lyn & OB ( anglia46) came in from Grantham in their 58 Sunliner Graham & marg brought their real early Olympic ( mid 50’s) David, Neil & Pete enjoying themselves at the campfire cooking. Suzanne & Cheryl Barb & Tally Trish relaxing Party time Happy people. Marg, sutcac, barb & Pat Shultzy contemplating life The Lovshack Boogie All in all a great time at a real good spot. Sure it rained a fair bit, but no one minded greatly. Roll on next event. JBJ & Boots

Hi All, I can't think of a single extra thing to say about the weekend. It has all been said - Thank you to all for such a great time! I was talking with the girls about a test that is done at Healthy Life on Bribie (tel: 07 3410 1522). The test is called Biodermal Screening. It is a test for foods, chemicals, environmental allergens etc. No needles or blood taken and safe for all ages. I have used this testing on Bonnie and my grandson Elijah. After getting their test results they were given a diet and if they stick to it they no longer have the many problems they were having. I would recommend it. Barb - I got the EMU oil today. Thanks for the tip and I will let you know how I go. Be safe, be happy - Trish
