G'day everyone, I was so entranced by the photo of the Don and FX combo in the July edition of Caravan World that I missed another VV item in the same magazine until a day ago. It's a picture of a 1962 38 ft Carapark which is/was currently touring WA and was sighted at a caravan park in Denham, WA. Note that it has a separate bedroom for the chauffeur. Reminiscent of some of those upmarket British vans... Just thought I'd post the item as a heads up for all the folk in WA - something to watch out for if it comes your way. No doubt it'll be a bit of an eye-popper if you do see it. Unfortunately Denham is a bit far from Perth for you to go for a weekend jaunt to see if it's still there. Tell you one thing - you'd need to plan your trip fairly carefully if you were towing 38 ft. You wouldn't want to come to an unexpected hairpin bend with no way to reverse out. ;D Don Ricardo Taken from Caravan World, July 2007, p. 77-78 (And now an obligatory word on behalf of the nice people at Caravan World: Caravan World is a a fine magazine which includes information of interest to both modern van types as well as vintage vanners. Well worth buying if you're interested in caravans.)

hi again don as most in the eastern forum know, we kinda like bigger vans and we have a cusso (crown vic) so this is right up our alley (pun intended). only problem is we'd have to buy the property next door as well so when we park it outside it wouldn't cause a problem with the neighbors. geoff 'n jude

Hi Don R, i did exactly the same thing , read the story about the big Carapark then saw the Don picture, told you about it and promptly forgot about the BIG one! Wouldn't it be nice to have your own chauffeur, i wonder did he pour the drinks as well?? Would have been a tough life!

WOW is right Matt! I want - gimme gimme gimme. What an absolute beauty. I think it's high time to trade up the onsite van from a 20 ft 70s Franklin. Heck, I wouldn't even need an annex. Build a fly over park it under, then tow her away any time I want to! Very classy! Of course one would need to buy some serious US iron to tow it with - Geoff'n'Jude have the idea a Cusso would be the go, hmm the neighbour at my caravan park has a cusso stashed at home...... Yep Dream on. Thanks for sharing Don! Cheers, thetinman
