Matt, Sounds like you've caught the Vintage Van bug thats been going around here. Unfortunately for you there is no known cure however my wife is fervently working on one for me!! Her cauldron is always bubbling with all sorts of weird ingredients in the hope of a cure to my affliction. ;D Terry. I sort of remember something on Jenson vans a while back.I guess you've already done a word search for it ??

Hi vintagecaravans i have an article from a 1956 Keith Winser mag advertising Jennison Pathfinder caravans, your spelling is different, but i think we mean the same caravan brand, and they were made in 4 different sizes, 12ft 3in , 14.3 , 16ft and 18ft 6in It says that the new models feature an aluminium body and windows with rounded corners. They were considered the Rolls Royce of Australian caravans at the time, and have a very large roof hatch. The add also says that they have been '' Leaders in their class for 25 years'' They were built by the Jennison Trailer Engineering Co. 283 Pacific Highway, Artarmon, Sydney, [4.5 miles from Sydney, Tram stop 19 on Lane Cove line] It also says that on the larger models showers are fitted. Hope that is some of the info you were after. Cheers Exocet

G'day Matt, Jennison Pathfinder were indeed a classy caravan. There is mention of one that was taken from Australia to tour Europe in 1958 (and articles reporting that tour appeared in "Modern Motor" all through 1958 and into 1959). You can see reference to it on this forum at vintagecaravans.proboards30.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1178454660&page=1Go right down to the bottom of that page. It will be interesting to hear what year the one you are looking at was manufactured, if you say it is bond-wood it must be in the 50's.. early 60's. Whoops !! just re-read exocet's post where the 1956 add says the new models are aluminium... so if yours is bond-wood Hope it's a good one Cobber.

Yeah Cobber it will be interesting to see what year the owner thinks it is, as bondwood ones seem to be pre 1956 according to the add, have always liked the style of the Jennison's particularly with the extra large roof hatch, how cool would that be! Exocet
