I am pleased to report that after fridays fiasco, I now have the new build teardrop registered. A good experience today with a helpful staff member makes a difference. I will post some photos taken while away at Lake Tabouri this weekend. Ken

Congrats Ken, looking forward to some pics of the finished TD (or have I missed them already??) Nuthin like overcoming the redtape and BS with the '.gov' traffic authority. I had a recent encounter when getting a permit to tow an unregistered van. The staff member at Vicroads asked me 'make?' - Viscount, 'Model?', there isn't one. Staff member 'but there has to be, system wont let me issue permit without it'. Okay, I said, its a Viscount model is Caravan. Staff member 'Year of first registration', no idea 1960s sometime. Again system can't issue without year (hence the number of 1900 caravans registered in Victoria). So I say 1960. Next issue was with chassis number, I said it doesn't have one, similar response from staff member, 'I have to put something in there' - fine I said 1960. Finally staff member informs me that if I get pulled over by the Police, it will be up to me to prove this is the van the permit is issued for and up to the Police Officer's discretion as to whether to believe me or fine me. Why oh why is it so hard to be an honest, law abiding, fee paying citizen?? Anyway under the cover of darkness, again a questionable item under the Vehicle Permit I got it home. Well done Ken, your perserverence, patience and cool temperament has paid off. Sorry to Hijack your thread mate, just wanted you to know that your definately not alone! Cheers, Mark

Well done Ken, perseverance certainly pays off. Dont understand why people ( or governments) have to make everything so difficult when a bit of thought goes such a long way towards making everyones life so much more enjoyable.
Hope you get as much fun out of it as we have out of Myrtle. Look forward to seeing it sometime soon.
KEEP ON TEARDROPPING, ITS THE BEST KIND OF DROPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers,
Leigh.
