Good-day all. Just a note to say hi and how I enjoy seeing the great job you all have done keeping some fine old vans alive. Although a 1970's nut (with a Datsun 120y 2door sedan and owning a 1979 Viscount Ambassador) I find your website a great place to visit . Baz

Welcome Baz to the vintage van site,
Great to see another Blue Mtns resident here now. After you've been to Coledale you will probably find yourself wanting another van! ;D
Cheers mate

Hi Baz,
welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy. Perhaps the caravan of choice to tow behind the Datto would be a Teardrop, especially if it was fitted out to suit the era.
Something to think about maybe.
Cheers for now.
Leigh.

Gidday Baz, welcome aboard Good to see another 70's nut out there. I was beginning to worry about myself being stuck in the 70's time warp. Just luv that music from Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, America, Eagles....it just goes on forever Got the 70's muscle car, just now looking for a van around that late 70's era. Just looking...looking...looking See if you can post some photies of your Viscount Ambassador Baz. Great photies also Tinnie of your Franklins. Cheers Greenie

Hi Greenie, there's a great quest van on ebay that would look good behind a muscle car . My dad used to do the cabinet making on them so i know they are well made.

Gidday Globe Trotter & Baz Just got to be happy today (Monday 21st May 2007) it is actually raining in country SE Queensland ;D Yeah Baz, nothing like the '70's music, even my two boys, 33 and 27 respectively, really enjoy a bit of LRB & Chicago....what's old is new again. If you can organise some photies that would be sensational of the van. Hey Globetrotter, thanks for that info. I am sure I have seen that one, however got caught up with (just watching) the bidding on EBAY for that 19 footer with 3 TV's etc. The cabinet work in that seem to be first class, however I think it would have been fairly weighty. Also seems to be more suited for a family. I didn't reach the reserve, however found it again as a private sale for $129000, if my memory serves me correctly. I will have a search for this one you mentioned later this morning. Also my trade is from the timber and jointing era many moons ago, so we were taught well in those days, and can appreciate your comments about your dad. Still just tyre kicking at the moment for the van, but will be specific that it must be around 18' with a width of close to 8' with dual wheels. Just doing the feasibility on a total refurb....now that's scary. Just going back out side to play in the rain Cheers Greenie
