Hi all, Came across these Adverts and a Postcard on Ebay this morning, thought I would share the photos with you. The postcard was taken at Wookey Hole, Somerset in 1937 and is of a Mrs. Bailey together with car and van. The 2 adverts are Eccles Caravan adverts from 1930. One for Birmingham and the other for London. Al/Don, I wasn't certain whether this should be in the "Down History Lane" section because of the subject matter being English not Australian. Feel free to move it or change it accordingly. Regards Di

Wookey wookey............ I'm surprised you didn't display your poetry skills there 'arold The poms do have a talent for amusing place names.... and historic, suggestive and amusing pub names as well, I hear the pubs are closing down at the rate of four a day since the anti tobacco taliban got their way. The 'van shown in the above postcard is an “Eccles” as well, I have a photo of a larger one called the “Eccles Senator”....same design though. Thanks for posting it Di, there is a section in “Down History Lane” for “UK caravans in Australia” so if I buy the post card it might qualify. Not sure about the car....... could be a "Motor" car . Cobber.

Great pics Di - thanks for posting them.
I like Cobber's definition of Australian touring heritage. If he buys the postcard, the van qualifies as Australian...
