crikey i got to work today and as usual, the first thing i did was log onto the website to see if there were any updates and to my amazement, the site had been blocked and access was denied saying that it was considered to be a chat-room. WHAT RUBBISH !!! the first thing i thought of doing was to tell my boss i would retire early (not much point going to work if i can't spend my time at vintage caravans), but then after a bit of computer jiggling i found i could get access through the english "old classic cars forum", so no early retirement for me at this point. the I.T. police have a bit of cheek trying to cut me out, don't you reckon? geoff

Geoff
Obviously your employer thinks it is ok for you to browse a UK caravan forum as it is less likely to distract you from your work duties!!
Pleased that those of us on the other side have kept you in gainful employment! Or should we apologise for delaying your retirement?

WOW how rude of them to block the website. Whats the point of going to work if you cant browse in here. Thats wrong on so many levels.

I spend half my day working on the internet! And no I'm not talking about ebouy either! I guess I am lucky to have whatever access I want, although I am too busy most days. It is a nice break to be able to check out the forum while munching on a bit of lunch though. Although personal email and internet useage during work time is a big issue these days - recent stats show the average Aussie worker spend 2 hours a day of work time on non-work-related internet and email! Of course that would not apply to anyone here! As an employer, I can appreciate why some companies regulate internet usage amongst their employees. However, I think all companies should allow their employees unlimited access to www.vintagecaravans.com I would! One of the better internet/email company policies I have heard of is a medium size employer who allows internet access for employee's personal use before and after work and during lunchtime to sites that are approved by the employer (ie for conducting personal banking, etc).
