Hi Dudes As usual i am probably out of line for doing sumthin i aint suppose ta. I noticed the "poll" facility on the top corner of the forum board and i thought we have never used this before and may as well give it a go. There is a bit of floundering happening as to where the nats should be held in 2010. so i figured we could use the poll to get a concensus on where people would prefer to stay.
Of course its not "cut and dried" but will give some indication of what the masses think.
I dont know if i can delete it anytime after i post it like i can with a normal post but if Mark Taylor would like to step in at any stage and make a decision like he did for Blue lakes at Mt Gambier this year then we can close this poll off.
Not sure if this is needed or not .. really just a trial of the poll facility. Who knows if its a success we can run other useless polls like "Is reddo the full quid .. yes .. no" "Is Cobber a Hot rodder or a restorer" "Is Will really a reincarnated garden Gnome"
::)Here goes...

Yeah Geoff I dunno wot i am doin'. flying blind here.... Spose its a matter of honesty. It might not let a member vote twice. As i said if it is a stuff up i will "pull the plug" on the poll. I will let it run for today and see what sort of chaos i have created... (Chaos is good i will have you know. ) If it looks like a complete botch Then we can send the product back to "Reddotel" and ask for our money back.... .... not much chance of me recovering the $50,000 i paid for the poll software from Reddotel. They have probably spent the dosh on Bondwood caravans by now... ;D I did see the manager driving a new ss monaro this morning Reddo

Hello Mr "Harriet." Ya might have won the race to the computer old mate .. but be warned .. Woman have evil ways of punishing us blokes. Not the least is depriving men of "pleasures of the flesh" you know ....Horizontal folk dancing in the bedroom... Nudge , Nudge wink, wink.. sssssaaaaayyyyy no more Mildura v Barossa This is Australia mate... Dunno weather you've noticed or not but the wine is great no matter where ya stop for a drink . Also every whistlestop in Australia has a bottle shop of some sort that sells your favourite flavour of the beloved juice from the vine. How could you be so selfish as to vote letting your pallete rule your mind.. There is more to life than alcohol you know..... ... well i think there is.. Thats what i was told at the last A.A meeting.......... i have never had a look A is for Alcohol B is for beer C is for Cider Meanwhile its Mildura sticking to the rails and leading by a short head.. You Barossa sympathisers better get the whip out. ;D Redd.. redd wiiiiiiiine ... goes to my heeeeeeeeaaaaad..then the taste buds... then the pallete.. then to the throat....then to the belly .. then to the liver.. then to the same body part that wont be getting a run in the bedroom tonight...... ;D... all because YOU voted for Barossa........oh knock it off now.

Hi guys the poll stands at 22 for Mildura 6 for barosssa... thats odd we are predicting at least 60 in 2010 I really feel that this poll is a good way or getting a feel for what the general concensus is about the location for the 2010 nats. So if ya havent voted yet get in there and have a say without .. saying a word. I said it before and i will say it again.. If Mark Taylor chimes in and says its at "Yarda, yardaville in 2010" .. well .. then thats where its at. All we are doing here is getting a feel for what people prefer between Mildura and barossa,, perhaps there should have been a third chioce.. "Other" We could end up anywhere. ....and anywhere is cool with me.

My two bobs worth is in. Reddo the last meeting I went to the alphabet thing went out the window coz everytime we got to D someone would say 'Drink', then someone would say 'great idea', meeting adjourned....... Seriously, I don't care where it's at (although I do have a preference) - I will be there anyway, even if I had ta go by train and sleep in a tent! Hmmm maybe that wont happen. Gristy

Is much the same either way for me. I like both places, and would go to either. Voted for Mildura, as I had to vote for one. However, stayed at the Big 4 on cnr of Deakin Ave & 15th St a few years ago. Was just inside the boundary fence. Heard evey wheelie around the roundabout each/all night. Would suggest if booking here, to make sure sites are well back into the park to avoid traffic noise. Cheers Urkel

Hi all Haven't been to any of the Nats yet, but from the sounds of things, it looked as though it was more fun at a smaller town rather than the big touristy place. Wonder if there isn't an advantage in being able to literally take over a whole caravan park in a smaller town, like Clare or Burra, that's still within strking distance of things to do? Ray

OK You lurkers We have nearly 900 registered van nutters on this forum . Of that we have 25 voting for Mildura and 10 for Barossa. Now I aint to crash hot at my "gazintas" and "add ups/takeaways" but i reckon we have about 865 vanners out there that hasnt voted. I said before the 2008 nats that we would get around 30 to 40 vans at Mt Gambier out of a van member population of around 800. This worked out at around 5% of the total membership. I Wasnt that far off the money really. So based on the theory that by 2010 we will have around 1200 members registered .(.not necessarily active) I am predicting about the same percentage of that 1200 will turn up at the 2010 Nationals.. so roughly 60 .vans I would dearly love for you guys to prove me wrong and we end up with 100 there....... but i suppose its only fair that the people who intend going should vote and those that arent able to make that long term commitment to going in 2010 dont vote. At least that way we will get a better indication of how many is coming and where we are going. I said it earlier on .. If Mark Taylor steps in and says we are going ...to "wherever" Then "Wherever " is where i will be. Just hope the park aint on a trainline or next to a roundabout aye!!! Reddo
