Hello everyone. I’m a new member and I hope I’m in the right place. I don’t know what year my Viscount van is. Would anyone be so kind as to have a look at the photo and shed any light they can? I know it’s a Viscount but that’s all I know. It’s been registered with two separate identities but it’s the same van.

This site is dedicated to vintage caravans (1970 and earlier), so you may not get a big response.

Hi Debra, Not unusual to have the wrong entity, as there is not much response here, I would try the Viscount Owners Group on Facebook. Cheers

Hi Debra,
As Roehm3108 has mentioned, this website is focused on pre-1970 caravans so our knowledge base doesn’t extend much beyond that. Having said that though, I do have access to a register for Viscount caravans which lists serial numbers for more than a 1,000 Viscount caravans built between 1959 and 1985.
I’ve checked the register and can’t find a serial number that aligns (in terms of number set and format) with either of the serial numbers listed on your registration papers, so no joy there. Does your van have a serial number created out of raised numbers on its drawbar? If it does, and you can tell me, that’s the number that I can match up with the register.
Apart from that, given that your van is a pop-top, I think it would have been built in the late 70’s or early 80’s.
Let us know if you can find the number on the drawbar.
Alternatively you can try the Facebook page for ‘Viscount Caravans Owners - Australia’ for information. There are two pages with that name, but the one you want is the the one with a photo of two Viscount caravans, one on the back of a tray truck and the other being towed by the truck.
