I could be wrong, but isn't that a lovely Mark IV Jag?

Is it an "SS" the forefather of the Mk IV Jag.
Think I still have an advertisement for one here somewhere.

Hi humpty2, so its the SS Swallow, 3.5 litre?, didn't they then change the name a little later because of Hitler and the SS, so that's when they changed to the Jaguar name and that there is very little difference between the SS and the Jag except for the engine size, ie, the SS has the 3.5 litre 6 cyl and the Jag had either a 1.5 4 cyl or 2.5 litre 6 cyl? My brother in law has an original Mark IV 1.5 4 cyl model, never been restored in going order, but does need restoring. They are a very elegant old car and obviously worth quite a bit of money either unrestored or restored, would look fantastic towing Cobbers 30's van!
Cheers Exocet

I will try to find the ad.....I think it was '39 and it did mention the change due to the unwelcome association with Herr Schickelgruber!
Only guessing here but it would be the one with the big motor..........the smaller engined car had smaller headlights
