Hi everyone Announcing the Vintage Caravan Nationals, 26th April to 3rd May 2024 – Stanthorpe, south-east QueenslandFor 2024 we are "back to the bush", in a beautiful regional outback setting. We are also doing a few things slightly differently this year – and we hope you find they make NATS24 easier and more fun! First, there are two venues.a) Top of the Town Tourist Park, 10 High Street, Stanthorpe – where we're creating a "village" of vintage and classic caravans ONLY. b) Stanthorpe Showgrounds, 8 High Street, Stanthorpe – where modern caravans, or anyone who wants to, can stay. It's right next to the caravan park, so everyone is together anyway. We have activities planned in both and yes both venues are dog-friendly! There are different booking procedures for the two venues.a) Top of the Town is booked directly through them. Then you also submit your NATS24 entry form. b) Stanthorpe Showgrounds is booked through us. Do NOT contact the Showgrounds direct – they will refer you straight back to us. Second, we have a nominal entry fee.$15 per caravan covers the inevitable costs of running a large event like this. Third, we have a new website:vintagecaravannationals.com.auThis is where we will be putting the 2024 itinerary when it's ready, and other good stuff as well! It saves trawling through the threads here to find updated information. (I built it; this is my first time helping to organise the NATS. I'm enjoying working with Richard, Cathie and Kim.) Fourth, you can enter/pay and book your Showgrounds van site online:vintagecaravannationals.com.au/nats24-entry-form/
On that page we also have a downloadable PDF entry form that you can email or post like we've done in the past. More coming soon!!!

Everyone entering NATS24 will, on arrival, get this complimentary window sticker for their van. We hope you think it's a smart addition to your collection of VCN souvenirs. We are also applying this design to a mug and pennant (sorry people, no tea towels!) and when we're happy with the samples, they'll be available to order from our website.

Yes, the Top of the Town wants people to email the Park at info@topoftown.com.au with following details: - How Many Sites to be booked (if more than 1, then the following info for each site).
- Booking Name:
- Address:
- Phone:
- Number of People on site:
- Arrival Date:
- Departure Date:
- Length of Van:
They will get back to you asap as like lots of rural locations, they are understaffed in the office. My suggestion is if you want a particular site, get an informal Group together & call it the ‘Melbourne Group’, then email the Manager asking for sites A-J for Melbourne Group with identifying emails…,…, …. Hope that helps!

Dosse. How did you get a site number? I've paid my deposit and received the booking number but no site number.

Hi all,
I have just spoken to and emailed the Top of the Town Park.
They need additional information besides Name, Email and Dates of Stay.
I have sent their contact email address and full list of info required to Richard, so he can update the main post for everyone's info.
Cheers Diane
Thanks Diane, I've added in the extra info required by Top of the Town to Smiles email above.

Dosse. How did you get a site number? I've paid my deposit and received the booking number but no site number. Organizers & early comers were given site numbers but after a great lot of interest, the Park Manager decided to allocate sites after the majority of sites are booked. I encourage people to form informal Groups & let Park know you’re with a particular group. Makes easier for the Manager to allocate sites too.

Hi Brenten,
That's correct about sites only being allocated close to the Nationals. It's to allow for those people who want to be in a group with other caravans of the same type, or with friends, etc, to be placed together.

I’d suggest you email the Park & tell them about your van & that you want to be with Jennison Group? The Manager told me a couple of weeks ago that she’s not worried about deposits or full payments until early next year. She said if people have received a return email from the Park, then “they’re booked in”! If it’s any consolation, I was the first booking at Park & still haven’t got my email. Cheers smiles

The 2024 Nationals are only 12 weeks away! More than 100 Vintage and Classic Caravanners from all over Australia have already registered for the event. If you haven't REGISTERED to attend or BOOKED a site, now is the time to do it.
More information about the itinerary, events and memorabilia will be posted soon, so keep an eye on the Forum and the 2024 Nationals website for further details

Hi, just wondering if there is any spots left in the show grounds? We’ve been overseas and have missed the caravan park. Have been notified that they put us on a waiting list.

Any chance of finding out which site we are actually on in the caravan park?? I have contacted the caravan park a number of times and apparently they are unable to release this basic information for some reason.

Hi Koala,
I think that the Park hasn't done a final allocation of sites yet because people have been able to nominate being part of a group so that they can be located close by. The Park has had to wait until all the sites are booked and they can then start grouping people together where they've nominated a group (given that not all group members booked at the same time). I think they're almost at the point of allocating sites. At least that's what I understand is happening.

As this group is not an incorporated car club in Queensland, I understand that I cannot bring my SIVS (club) registered car to the event unless I can get my local car club to list it as an official event on their calendar. Is that correct?

Hi Clipper1957,
That sounds correct.

That’s all that is required with my club. I have my vintage van registered on sivs as well as the stato. Once deemed an official car club event I then do not need to complete the log book either as log book entries are only required on non club outings. (In nsw that’s the case anyway) Jenno

Hi We are involved in the Mini Owners Club of Queensland and we will be attending the event from start to finish. We can put the event up on our calendar for the duration of the event including travel to and from to assist with SIV registration requirements.
Looking forward to the event, John Dowton President MOCQ
