Sale of Don & extras

There comes a time when it's very clear what you need to do with all the projects that have accumulated
& need to be moved on to someone who would like to, & have the time, to finish them, & enjoy..
First of all, I want to move along a Don, one from Mt Martha that I said I would never sell as it is so original,
I will never do any of this project now, & only wish to keep the Family 140 Don that I'm working on, even that one may never get finished, but who knows , life changes in the blink of an eye !

Very original Don Bondwood Caravan. Inside would be the most original I have seen, untouched & would only need a clean inside. Original Dunlopillow Mattresses.

Outside needs quite a restoration, some bottom rails , some ply, leadlight needs replacing, some work to be done on window frames., door lock. Chassis need replacing. You need carpentry & mechanical skills, not a big cost, mainly your time input.

. . Included is a few A-A grade Marine ply sheets to renew some outer sheets, 2440x1220x4mm. Also another donor van with very good chassis with springs , Axle, wheel arches, & other bits, are included in the price. good door lock & other bits of hardware

Both vans need a trailer to transport them.

I hope someone takes advantage of ths one with the great interior, it's rare to find one all intact & never been touched , but I'd like to clean up & have some space to show off the one I intend to keep. I've been working on it again but life keeps holding me up !! I think it's Four Dons Ive already passed on to others , surely that's a good effort towards preserving these under-rated Dons

Both these Don vans sold to the same buyer, one went to Wagga NSW, & the other to West Wyalong NSW to his in-laws, this needed to be done to keep them under cover, they sounded enthusiastic & seeing the finished Don in my shed enabled them to see what can be done, they loved the shape & leadlight windows.

I definitely couldn't restore these myself as time & ability are running out, I had misgivings as I prepared that very original & unmolested Don for transporting. But if I can possibly finish the Family 140 it will suffice !

Probably the biggest surprise conducting these sales, is that with 8,588 members of vintagecaravans.com , there wasn't one single inquiry or offer from the forum. These sold through Marketplace on Facebook. One more to go !

Congrats ST that you've got those vans out of the workshop. I'm sure it has taken a lot of worry off your shoulders. It can get a bit overwhelming with so many projects staring at you. Now focus on that family labour of love. Cheers. Ray
