i recently acquired a 14 f00t franklin van which i think is from 1962 approx. it is in need of a major resto but some of the work is already done ie.all new timber frame and the body work is in reasonably good condition.on this van front and rear are the original decals which are in very sad state but in the right hand corner of these decals is the word panther in large green letters. does any body out there know anything about "franklin panther" or has images of same ? if so please reply to galaxie65@bigpond.com or through this forum

Hi Olympicdebonair, It sounds like your van is a Hilandale Panther, which is a round shape that lots of people mistake for a Franklin Caravelle. If you put up a pic I can tell you for sure, Cheers hughdeany

Hi Olympic Debonair, Just following up on Hughdeany's post, there's information on how to post photos on the forum here. We'd love to see some pics of your van. You may also be interested to have a look at the Hilandale thread in the 'Down History Lane' section here There are a few photos of Hilandale Panther's there, and you will see there were actually two quite different shapes given the Panther model name. I will be interested to hear which one yours is. Don Ricardo
