Can anyone help me please. I have acquired an old Viscount van that I want to restore & need to move it from SE QLD to Mid North Coast NSW it is unregistered & has been out in the elements for a number of years. Can you tell me the best way to do this? Cheers Jenny

Hi jenjon Is the van towable? If so you can get a permit from the Motor Registry that allows you to tow it from point A to point B. But the van must be safe to tow. The second alternative is that you hire a car trailer and load it onto the trailer to take it down. The third is to find a carrier who is prepared to take it to NSW for you. Hope that helps

Thank you, no it's not towable.

Hi all, I am in the same boat. Could a 12.5 ft caravan fit on a car trailer, and what does a typical trailer weigh? I have a tow limit of 1600 kgs. Also, any hazards with towing a car trailer with caravan on it?

Could a 12.5 ft caravan fit on a car trailer, and what does a typical trailer weigh? I have a tow limit of 1600 kgs. Caravan will weigh around 750 - 950kgms empty. Car trailer will weigh around 600kgms empty. So it could be marginal/risky?
