Hi Kenny, I’ve got a hunch that this photo you posted is of an Orford caravan. I can’t prove it because I can’t find a photo of a caravan the same, but Orford was located in Brisbane and a number of features (the side windows including the porthole, the paint job, the size of the van, etc) resemble the features of Orford vans in photos we do have. The other thing is that I don’t think that van is as old as 1956. The design and style is more “modern” than that in my judgement - more very late 50’s or into the 60’s. Actually I would describe it as mid-century design. The fact that the SLQ has marked it as 1956 doesn’t necessarily mean that’s correct. I’ve found that some of the dates given for photos by the state libraries can be out by a decade or more. I’ll be interested to hear what Hughdeany thinks about the date. (Just to link my guess about Orford and a later date - Orford’s mid-50’s vans were a much older design than this - more of an oval shape - but their 1959-1962 designs were very similar to the van in the photo.) Hi Don and Kenny, Yes I agree it’s an Orford,as you say late 50s or early 60s. Beautiful lines.🥰 I am just having my morning cuppa before making the 24 hour COVID dash from Qld to Victoria and it’s pouring rain, first we have seen in over 3 months! Cheers hughdeany

Looks like this Falcon & van have just arrived home after holiday (or they took the van to servo to check the tyres). Whatever the case maybe, we've probably all driven into the yard with the van in tow....

Hi Kenny, Great photo - looks like an early 60's Viscount. That's a ripper collection of photos. Cobber will enjoy going through it I think - his whole life working for the PMG will pass before his eyes! I was really interested to see the photo of the utility with the gas producer on the running board. Just makes you realise some of what our parents or grandparents had to cope with during the War. I was also interested to see this photo: PMG Utility Holden FB 'C-6453' 1962 by Colin McDiarmid, on Flickr The van on the left is a Carapark, but I can't quite work out the other two. Pity they parked the vehicles in front of the vans! Some people's priorities just make me shake my head!! Don Ricardo

I know the Toyota is probably just parked in front of this Olympic but can you image the little Toyota taking the Olympic for a run?

You don't see many Coronas these days.

I can't see a tow bar on this Mazda 323 but it seems reasonable it could haul this Chesney camper for a weekend get-a-way!
