My friends father always nosed in their Viscount (my dad never did for our Millard).
Maybe it was to do with theft, ie can't just hitch and tow when its 180 degrees away.

Hi Kenny,
I’m sure the VW did tow the van,back then things were slower and lighter and easier on cars.
Lots of small vans around then too before they all became overweight juggernauts!

Hi Kenny,
That top photo is a ripper. Based on the design of the caravan and the paintwork my guess is that the van is from the 30’s or maybe the 40’s, but probably the first.
The truck and caravan may not have been on holiday, although they may have. But the rig may have belonged to a traveling tradesman (signwriter).
