Here's an interesting one, looks like the van is being towed by an XA Falcon or Fairlane? I'll bet he checked the air in the tyres while he was there!

Here is a nice combo, a lovely Murrumba Star and a HK Monaro. Van gets the garage, Monaro gets the car port back then...... Today, two deck chairs still adorn the patio!

My friends father always nosed in their Viscount (my dad never did for our Millard). Maybe it was to do with theft, ie can't just hitch and tow when its 180 degrees away.

As Hughdeany observed earlier, here is another van parked coupling away from the road. I reckon that Splitty hauls the Murrumba Star!

I like being 'glass half full" but does that tow bar on the VW suggest it moves the Ambassador Alumvan along??

Hi Kenny, I’m sure the VW did tow the van, back then things were slower and lighter and easier on cars. Lots of small vans around then too before they all became overweight juggernauts! Cheers hughdeany

Found another Car/Van combo that would have probably tackled the Bruce Highway at Christmas time talking the fam to their favorite vacation park, who wouldn't want Kingswood + Murrumba Star package like that today!

Imagine cruising down the Pacific Hwy with your nice HT Kingswood and your trusty Murrumba Star - with both wheels put back on the van, and an LPG tank too, of course!

Hi Kenny,
That top photo is a ripper. Based on the design of the caravan and the paintwork my guess is that the van is from the 30’s or maybe the 40’s, but probably the first.
The truck and caravan may not have been on holiday, although they may have. But the rig may have belonged to a traveling tradesman (signwriter).
