Good evening, THank you for letting me join, I hope I can add some value in the future. This is my first post. Growing up we owned a Millard Capri (light blue/white) and a Viscount (light tan on white) There is a photo of me somewhere at standing on the step of our Millard Capri, with my favorite matchbox car going off to Sunday School. ah the memories. I'm wondering though in the mean time, can anyone tell me the brand or manufacturer of this caravan in Queensland (early - mid 1970s). I recall seeing them on the sunshine coast at the time but forgot all about them until today. They were very modern at the time. Thanks in advance, Kenny

I have a followup question if I may. Its likely to be one for Orphans Page ...... Happy to repost there (apologies in advance) I couldn't see it listed on the Orphan page (maybe I haven't done enough research). Here is a photo of an MFC Caravan taken in Brisbane in the early 1970s. Is this a dealership name or a brand name?

Hi Kenny,
It’s great to have you on board. We’ll look forward to your contribution to the forum. You’ve obviously had quite a bit of caravanning experience.
MFC was a manufacturer/brand name. They built caravans during the 70’s in Airport West, a suburb of Melbourne. MFC stands for ‘MIghty Fine Caravans’.
They aren’t included in the index for the ‘Down History Lane’ section of the forum (if you’ve found that), because when the forum was set up it was decided that it should be for ‘vintage’ caravans which were defined as those built before 1970. As we’ve learned since, 1970 is a pretty arbitrary date, and there is some info here about vans that straddle the dividing line and were manufactured both sides of 31 December 1969. However, MFC was exclusively a 70’s manufacturer so.there isn’t much info about them here. Doesn’t mean that they weren’t a reasonably well built caravan though.

Ah thanks Don Yes I found the vintage list as you suggested. I knew there must be a reason it wasn’t there. Thanks for the detailed explanation, much appreciated . Regards Kenny
