Just wondering what people did with their independent rubber torsion bar suspension, I notice this is on Most 1950s gypsy's and alot of sunliners and still even popular today, I'm just wondering what the life expectancy is, if the suspension seams to work ok do I just leave the original suspension in or does the rubber last longer than 60 years? Do these set ups ever leave anyone stranded on the side of the road, are they easy to update brakes on? Does anyone know what brand would have been used in the 50s in nsw? Are the modern axles from brands like alko and trojan a direct bolt in replacement? Is there a way to lower the height? Is there a way to check them out for problems?
