Not exactly a caravan related question but I hope someone can help. I am in the process of restoring a Series 1 Land Rover which has a homemade 'hardtop' made from canvas covered plywood. I have to replace a section of the hardtop and read with interest an earlier thread regarding using acrylic paint because it is more flexible than oil based paint. As I am completely replacing a section I have to re-apply the canvas covering and was wondering what glue to use, will exterior grade PVA be suitable ? Or can you stick the canvas in place using the acrylic paint ?
Thanks,
Colin

Hi Colin,
You can't use the paint to stick the canvas. I'd go the exterior grade PVA for ease of use, I reckon someone else here would have other adhesive suggestions. If you go PVA, make sure its Aquadhere or Bondall which are better quality glues.
If in doubt, ask advice from the guys at the paint desk at your local big green shed or find a motor trimmer. The one near me uses a red spray on adhesive in cars and boat trim especially.
Cheers Chris
