Hi all, My partner has just purchased what I think is a Carapark toaster lookalike, "President" caravan. It's been sitting in a backyard for a few decades. Purchased from the DMR by a gent who worked for the DMR. It has some numbers welded into the rusty drawbar, and an electrical compliance placard above the small kitchen bench. It will be a project for us, so please be prepared for many dumb questions coming your way. When I work out how to post photos, I'll throw up what I've got. Cheers Az

Hi Azamagnum, Welcome to the forum and thanks for telling us about your President. Our current understanding - which we haven’t been able to finally confirm at this point - is that the rights to the Carapark “toaster” caravans were bought by a group of people (possibly former Carapark staff or associates) who formed President Caravans after the Carapark empire got broken up. It seems like they didn’t make a great success of the venture because they stopped making caravans in 1969, and sold off all their equipment and parts in November of that year. You’re on the right track with posting photos when you provided the following link: lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/ACtC-3d7yxdb8AZkAKHKGeyjtN98HhmDAgNSyGdPYSnzhyYRgR4aip-2Wu44mTezbGpzoRl4FEDHTuYyZR1mYo_wi6yKfHRAqZqC3tS6d-AXuSw5X_AjUOv7KAOUmlFi_wrWNRMawF-xaJbrb9UgJmUfkEQb=w944-h708-no?authuser=0You can make the photo display by choosing the ‘Insert Image’ icon in the menu at the top of the ‘Create Post’ box - the icon is towards the right hand end of the menu and looks like a tiny landscape picture in a frame. If you select the icon, it opens up into an ‘Insert Image’ dialogue box. When you’ve got that, paste your photo URL from Google into the top line saying ‘Image URL’, then when you’ve pressed the ‘Create Post’ button, your photo will display like this. Let me know if you have any problems. Don Ricardo
