Hi All
Well I`ve been into Vintage Cars for 30 years and swore I would never own a van, that is until last weekend when a 1964 Globe Trotter landed in my yard. It is a virtual time capsule, a credit to the recently deceased owner and the aim is to maintain it to his standards.
It has same features as that in another article on this site and seems to have a few updates such as 3 way fridge and electric brakes, inside it displays builders badge and Electrical acceptance sticker from November 1964. Externally the decal/logos have faded and I would like to reproduce these, if anyone has ideas/illustrations i would be grateful.
I will be towing it with a 1957 Chrysler Royal and hope to paint it in a similar colour scheme to the car. I am full of curiousity about this venture and welcome your participation to get the ball rolling. Are there any others out there ??
Thanks Chris

Hi Chris
Welcome to the site and congradulations on your new purchase.
You have a couple of options reguarding the decals, depending what they look like they can be made from vinyl stickers or they could be hand sign written. The best option would be to go to your local signwriter and ask them. OH ,you could also make your own decals if they are only small and your printer uses waster proof ink. ( I have made a couple for my FJ Holden )
Dont forget to post some photos.
Cheers. Trodler.

G'day Chris, Welcome to the forum. Did you notice the 1965 "Globe Trotter" on the Home page of this site @ vintagecaravans.com/globe_trotter.htmit is apparently in very original condition. A fridge would have been standard equipment in 1964 but you think yours has been replaced do you? Photos---we need photos---photo bucket is there to be conquered Cobber.

Hi Chris. Welcome to this site from a newish member.I'm not new to vanning but am new to vintage vanning. Congrats on picking up a mint Globetrotter. I'm interested in what build number yours is as I have a globetrotter myself.Mine has an oval shaped small brass badge screwed to the drivers overhead cupboard inside the van which says:
Patented on Construction no 15369.Globe Caravans South Australia.
Pretty much identical to the one on this sites homepage.

Hi Chris. Sorry for delay, just got back from holidays. I'll have another look tomorrow re build number of my Globetrotter and send you a PM. I can see the badge in your photo at top right near the power point.Looking at your photo it looks like you have a nice van there.Unfortunately my Globetrotter is in very poor condition compared to yours.
I'd say mine is nearly ready to send to Reddowreckers!
Terry and Grum.
