We recently repaired our flyscreens using magnetic tape. The "South" strip is attached to the window frame and the "North" strip to two sides of the mesh. The other two sides are held down with the original wooden beads When closed the screens give a very effective seal. We put a strip of cloth tape over the edge both to hide the glue used to attach the magnetic strip, and also to replicate the original effect. On the original screens the free edges were covered with cloth tape and a tab at the free corner was hooked over a protruding screw to hold them in place. I bought the strip from AMF Magnetics in Sydney, but there are plenty of suppliers - just look under "magnets and magnetic materials" in the Yellow Pages
