Hi guys – for those of you who may be interested, I’ve developed my own way to add a water inlet to the top of an existing tank. In my case the tank I had an inlet and outlet on the bottom so I plugged the bottom inlet, got a boat drain plug and elbow to fir for a watering line and used it on top as an inlet. I did this as I could not get inside the sealed tank to add a connection in the normal way. This works.
I’ve also varied it to a threaded elbow on one end and put on that a sink tap filter to allow air out of the top as I discovered to prevent back flushing while filling, the air outlet needs to bigger than the water inlet to allow air pressure out quickly and a quicker filling of the tank by pouring in from the inlet. I forgot to take photos so I hope this diagram explains what I mean. Silicon was used to seal the unit to the tank and for the stainless steel screws used.
