Restoring Window Stays

After what seemed to take forever I finally finished restoring all the window stays in our 1968 Olympic Riviera.  In this model there are 26 small window stays and 4 large stays for the front and rear stone guard.  I polished all the aluminium except the mounting angle on each end(i did try but when the buff ripped it out my hand and sent the bracket bouncing around the shed I called it quits), re-knurled the thumb nuts and had all the steel parts re-zinc plated. This is a job you don't want to do to often.

Our Kennedy stays were the same, I cheated with the knurled nuts (which were shot) I bought new from Caravans Plus,
the effect was fantastic, like yours.
