Has anyone put reflectors on their caravans? Other than the normal tail light ones. Any down the side etc

Neons maybe, but not sure on reflectors Why would you want them on the side. May be when the TC goes too fast round a corner and the caravan is sideways Now that would be cool

The TC is called Bessie and I should look after her better! I never really think about how old Bessie is, 1975. I have had her since 1990. I was just thinking reflectors on the side of caravans just as a safety thing. Maybe thats just me and not really needed! Cheers Kathryn

Maybe you should check with road regulations first before you put any reflectors on the sides. White or amber facing forward, red facing rearwards, sides.??

Hi Kathryn This thread is almost dead but I’m back on my VSB-1 hobby horse again (It seems it’s my favourite) I know it’s not purist or absolutely authentic with an older van, but if you follow the current regulations you can’t go wrong in the eyes of the law or with making an effort to be seen on the road. Lights and reflector requirements depend on the size of a trailer or caravan. To find out what’s required click the link below. It’s the VSB-1 build guide (Vehicle Standards Bulletin-1). Check out section 9. It’s a national standard determined by the Dept of Transport and Regional Services. All states use this Standard. www.dotars.gov.au/transport/safety/road/bulletin/vsb1/index.aspxThe following sections deal with reflectors: 9.8.1 9.8.2 9.8.3
