Well folks,
I am definately going mad! I was on my way home this afternoon (yes some of us work on weekends ) when I noticed a neighbour just up the road from my house is having a huge I mean HUGE clean-up... Wifey says it all has to go to make way for house extensions. I have had my eyes on his fibreglass bubble caravan for a number of years now.
Anyway I bring my old bug to a shuddering halt and a quick three point turn ensues and I stop out the front to find the owner emptying rubbish into a rubbish skip.
I asked him if he is selling the old caravan in the near or distant future... He repiles its going to the tip! OK I thought I better not look too interested then He invited me to have a look at it and it does require some work.
The gel coat on the top of the van has dissapeared in a few spots... Is this difficult to repair?
He tells me the floor needs replacing as well but, it did'nt look diabolical... Is this fibreglassed into the main body?
It also has the old style tow hitch which bolted onto the tow bar of the tow car... no snap-on or screw-top fitting here
I'm not too sure what make of van it is but, looks like it could be a Sunliner or a Kennedy... Its definately not an Olympic and appears to be approx 15ft long. I'll ask the owner when I see him if I can snap a couple of pictures.
Any ideas from anyone would be great. Oh by the way I have'nt said I'll take it yet... I have four weeks to decide. Also need to decide on a fair price. However him saying he was taking it to the tip means cheap cheap cheap ;D
Cheers
Greg
