Gidday again. I want to line the inside of my van with ply. Please tell me how thick it should be. Only the walls not the roof as I believe you have wet the ply to mould it, is this correct. Many thanks

Hi Kev.
3mm ply would be more than suitable to line the inside of your van. No the ply doesnt need to be wet to curve it. If you take a visit down to your local ply specialist you will find that you can actually purchase ply specially made for curving (it has the main veneers running across the sheet instead of along it.) So If you do decide to line the roof remember to line the walls first then the roof so that you should get a nice tight joint. While your at it why dont you throw in some insulation for those cold winter nights. There has been a bit of a debait about insulation, I use a building grade of styrofoam about 20mm thick and it also is fire resistant.
Cheers. Trodler.

The thickness I would reccomend for the walls is 3mm and for the internal ceiling I used 1.5 mm marine. Go to the members photos and look under "My Castle Caravan" page 2 and that may help you more. Cheers retro1
