Anybody out there know how to re-colour tail-lights that have lost their original colour (red or orange) and turned clear instead?? Cheers Ray

Hi Ray, not sure if it's still available but they used to make special 'tail light' paint, I bought some about 7 years ago when I got my 1st EH. It came in little glass bottles with a brush and looked like nail polish and you painted it on the inside of the lens. As for the outside of the lenses, I always polish mine with brasso and they come up just like new. Hope this helps, Todd

Hi Ray. If you have a look in your local auto shop you should find that they sell small bottles of "paint" made especially to re-colour tail light lenses. The bottles are about the size of a nail polish bottle. I havnt used it so it would be an idea to try it out first.
hope this helps. Trodler.

There are spray cans of lens paint/dye available these days, and the sprays gives a nice even finish. If you want a darker shade then just keep applying more coats.
I have a can of amber spray that I have had for a year or so, but be blowed if I can remember where I got it from ... might have been rare spares? I used it to colour 3 faded lenses and there is probably enough left for another couple.

Hi JB The lens is on the EJ. They have faded almost clear, especially the orange indicator part, but are otherwise still in good nick. Very happy with my purchase of the ej. Absolutely no rust in her!!! She's primed, and will be off to the paint shop on the 31st. Turquoise body, whitish roof. Going to Kingaroy Thursday, so will check with Supercheap and see what they have got in the lens colour department. Thanks all for your help Ray

You should be able to buy new lenses for the EJ from rares spares. You can also get amber bulbs with the correct base on them ( BA15s ) and red bulbs with the correct base ( BA15d ) if you just need it to show an amber or red colour when the light is on. These are designed for the clear tail amp assemblies that are all the go for late model buzz boxes but they would work OK with faded lenses too. Let me know if you need them as I import them and supply them to auto parts stores.
