Hi there, My husband who gives into my every whim Agreed that we should buy and restore a vintage van. I know his angle, as it puts him one step closer to his dream of a classic vehicle with which we will one day tow said van. So here we are, now proud owners of a Franklin with the chassis weld 535D. Im in love with her, it was the old keys and locks that really got me. Our guess is that she (whom we have named Annabelle) is a 1964 but if anyone can help clarify that would be divine.
It is our plan to restore Annabelle to her former beauty and prestige so she can live out the next 50 odd years with dignity. Also on the agenda is to next year spend the year travelling in her with our three young children and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Big ask we know, but we have always bitten off more than we can chew; Our moto is to chew harder.
We look forward to the discussions here and to any wisdom you have to share.Attachment Deleted

Hey nice Franklin. i like the idea of travelling with the family in her, just like the good old days. We did a 4 week trip from Perth to Tassie in our first caravan about 10 years ago. We had 3 kids but only a 4 berth caravan so someone had to sleep on the floor each night. If your interior is okay should just need a polish and a tidy up, maybe new window rubbers etc. Recommend Purple Polish for the ally Good luck with your project

Enjoy your renovation journey and the other journey that will come after that. Miranda
