Well I do apologise for my error. I had come across this van on eBay and just thought that maybe someone on this forum might appreciate the heads up about it.
It was very late at night when I tried to share it here and I couldn't work out how to post the link and in trying copying paste details here, got it confused.
I know nothing about vintage vans. It was a passion of my father's see. He previously had restored a Franklin Futura in an all black high gloss paint, and had had an Olympic Riviera, a Debonair, a Stardust and also a tiny Predom Prepsol (they are the ones I can remember) All fibreglass because 'glass is class, as they say on the forum' he always said. This was all before he passed away just over a year ago though and I guess I'm just trying to keep his spirit alive for myself by trying to share the chance for someone to rescue another of these beautiful old fiberglass caravans from deterioration.
Again, apologies for getting it wrong. I was only trying to be helpful (and I really do hope someone maybe found their dream project van). I will try not to do it again.
Regards, Sherie Coombe

HI Sherie Not a worry. The other poster was just having a little too much fun. Perhaps not even a member. You efforts are appreciated. Join up and maybe we can help you with a restoration of one of your dads vans. Do you still have any of them? Boblor would love to have the chassis numbers if you do. Cheers Atog

I think the ad said 1958 , which i know it way to early for a Kennedy , but i like the shape and i have 4 tow cars so why not have more than one V/V , i believe Mr Kennedy ( after he got the gear to make them )only made one or two a year for about 10 years , can any one tell me if that is correct .
cheers kel.

just a note kennady vans started in 64 Hi LinPet, I was interested in your comment about when Kennedy started producing vans, and I know you have a Kennedy. Does that mean you've been able to unearth some info about them? The history of Kennedy vans seem to be shrouded in mystery. We have advertisements for the Skyline version dated 1963, and Boblor has said he has an advert for the Wayfarer version (presumably with the boot and fins?) from 1961. So does that mean that somebody was producing what we call Kennedy vans before Mr Kennedy himself started production, or does that mean he was producing them for other people before 1964? If you have any info that will help us to sort all this out, that would be really valuable. I've met some members of the Kennedy family but they told me that they don't have any info about his activities, which is a shame. Incidentally, Gwen Haslar (who was a well-known caravan journalist and reviewer in the 60's and 70's) wrote that Franklin started producing 'Kennedy-style' vans first but gave up and passed the molds on to Kennedy who then started building them. However, the earliest adverts for the Franklin vans is 1964, the same year you said that Kennedy started, and a year later than the Skyline vans and several years after the Wayfarers. My head hurts! ...It was a passion of my father's see. He previously had restored a Franklin Futura in an all black high gloss paint... Hi Sherie, That was a great outfit of your father's! It left an (excellent) impression on anyone who saw it, including me. Good to see that you're keeping his spirit alive. I really think you need to buy yourself a vintage van and live the memory. You won't be on your own - many people on the forum are reliving the happy memories of their childhood or younger days! Don Ricardo
