The last time I looked at this park (October) it was a bit "how's your father"! It may be pet friendly, but the riverside park is a far better spot. I suggest that Clyde and Barb reassess the joint to make sure it's worth going to it.

Hi Ray. Yes you are absolutely correct. The riverside park is by far the better park. Especially if you 'time your run' between peak times of school holidays and the annual influx of Mexicans/Nomads between May and September. May even be lucky enough to score one of the dozen or so absolute riverfront sites!!!! (...also dearer!! ) However, they have a strict "No Pets" policy. Hence my recommendation for the Hillcrest Park, which does allow pets and this has almost been a mandatory consideration for Vintage Van get togethers of late. The amenities are pretty ordinary and since the 'mini tornado' went through, there are no shade trees left standing! Nice grassed sites with slabs, though. Some sites front the Lions Park(free gas bbq)which has nice, shady, lawned areas and shelters fronting the river.(approx. 50m walk from the C P) Not the best park I've stayed at, but certainly not the worst either! There you have it. Riverside is great in off peak times ....without pets. .....or Hillcrest with pets! Cheers Sutac......now a Burrum Heads local

Caddyshack, as sutcac mentioned, the riverside one does not allow pets as it's a council park.
