Hi To all my V.V.friends/family As some of you know over the past 4-5 years I have had health problems associated with Cancer. Recently I have been diagnosed again for the fourth time, but this time inoperable. I put this thread out there so you will know the actual situation, rather than various rumors as to my condition. Right now I feel good and go on with life as if i am not aware of my current health condition as diagnosed by my medical team. I invite you all to continue the contact with me if I can offer advice/assistance with your restoration, and in particular my Olympic family. You the vintage/classic van enthusiausts will keep me going, as you are my 'family'. So until I state differently, please keep me in the 'loop'. Hope to see you at the outings planned between now and Christmas. Cheers boblor

Hi Bob Mate - I'm so sad to hear about this.
Keep going and all the vintage vanners... especially Olympic owners wish you the best.
Without your knowledge and research the Olympic owners would be so much more in the dark.
Thanks again

Hi Bob,
So sorry to hear of your situation. I am a recent member of the Olympic gang and am very impressed with your positive outlook and also your willingness to assist others. Impressed also with the expander van you displayed recently.
I have a van listed for sale with photos on the forum. Am wondering if you could tell me its age please?
All the very best.

So sorry to hear this Bob. Like so many salt of the earth people, you do not deserve this. Sending strength your way & as my Grandfather used to say (in imperfect latin) 'Illegitimus non carborundum est' "Don't let the b......d's grind you down' Love from the SGTL's.

G'day Bob. I met you several years ago in the CP at Coonamble when you were on your way to Cowra with your Olympic in tow, I caught Vintage Van sickness off you and since then have been addicted, thanks very much. All the best for the future.

Hi Alan, Agnes and other VVers. I am travelling ok at the moment except my knees are painful. Cancer wise I will have further results next week, and it is not causing any problems at the moment except last tests showed the cancer is still growing. I will give a report late next week. Cheers boblor

Hi to All my VV Family I though it was time to give you all an update on my health. As I reported in August, I was not given a good report, and the medical profession told me they could not help me with my current cancer. So as know I do not give in easly, so I have been on an alternative program of treatment, and currently feeling good, except blood test do not indicate this,as my tumor cell count is still going up. Seeing that I am feeling well enough to travel I hitched the van up for a 13 week trip, and started last Wednesday. I am spending Christmas with my families in the Hunter Valley region and then moving to Sydney and south to Vic.and in Feb. to SA to take part in the Caravan Show at Wayville showground on 21 & 22nd Feb. before returning home for medical checks first week of March. If I still feeling like travelling, I am planning on going to NZ for the Beach Hop last week of March. I still have painful knees, but I can get by with them at this stage. So look out I may be passing your way on this trip.Once again thank you for your thoughts over the past months, you encourage me to keep going. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and the New Year is good to us. Cheers boblor

Sounds like a great trip, Bob. If you're anywhere on the Central Coast after New Year, pm me. Would be good to catch up. Hope your Christmas celebrations are all you hope for. They are, now that I think of it, cos you're livin' the dream in a vintage caravan!! Something too many of us DON'T do enough of!!!
