Hi to all Coledalers,
There are some big changes happening at Coledale that will impact on our stay there, our good buddy Norm left at the end of April and the new caretaker might not be as flexible as Norm has been.
Plus council is making some changes, there will only be 4 powered sites between the amenities block and the cottage, with no power being allowed on the terrace.
A few people over the years have thought we should move to another park, well we think we have found the spot, Shellharbour Beachside Tourist Park and we think it would make a great alternative. It is about 30 minutes south of Coledale.
I have made a tentative booking for a bunch of sites from Wednesday 22nd October to Wednesday 29th October. The park is right on the beach with a great pool (seawater) right next to the park, great surfing, a five minute walk to the shopping centre that has many coffee shops and restaurants and a nice pub that looks over the harbour. It is pet friendly. There are markets on Sunday 26th.
Anyone going to Shellharbour please contact me first with the dates you would like so I can sort the sites, I will group those staying for more than the weekend together and those that can only make the weekend together, that way we won’t have modern vans in among us. All the sites we have blocked are in a cluster so we won’t be spread out like Coledale.
The prices at the moment are $36 and $45 for waterfront per night for this time of year, if you stay 7 days you only pay for 6 , but if we get enough bookings I will try and negotiate a discount. Seniors discounts apply for stays less than a week.
The park hopes to have a camp kitchen built by then and the boss has said he will ring some of the local clubs to see if he can get us a dinner deal with courtesy bus for one night.
Please contact me either by email jubbard@optusnet.com.au or by PM on the forum.
Thanks all, Jude and Geoff
PS We still LOVE Coledale and will be popping down whenever we can

Hi Geoff and Jude.. I'll be in that. Will pm you when I have worked out exactly what days. Most likely Thursday 23rd through to Sunday 26th Thanks for picking up the batton and running with this event. Coledale is a non event for anything more than an overnight stay nowadays... and as you say.. Shellharbour is only half hour past Coledale for us northerners. It means a 3 1/2hour run in stead of 3hrs. Now that just leaves someone to order a torrential rain storm or Gale force winds and we will be right at home in October Reddo

Humpties will be there......duration unknown right now. No need to order the torrential rain storm or gale force winds..they will come without an invitation

Dear Poppa bear and Mother bear normally you tell us how many are coming what street we are in and who our neighbors are just like Coledale or Kendalls. Are we going to have a charity auction ? If so I will wear my best shorts and t shirt.

Hi Bubba Bear, So many questions? . Your neighbours are the same as usual, don't want to advertise names on here , you will have to wait and see. Your site number is 24n, a lovely sunny corner block, complete with water views and within easy reach of bins (for the empties) and the amenities for your ablutions. As we only have 16 attendees no auction this year ?, but there is a market on Sunday morning where you can buy more crap to donate to next years auction !!! See you and your legs soon, Jude and Geoff

16 attendees !!! There`s thousands on this web site . Can`t be all static displays and Gunnas. Come on people Jude and Geoff have gone to the effort, this is the new Coledale with heaps better facilities . It has always been a great get together. If we can get the numbers up we can have a fun auction and raise a couple of bucks for a worth while charity that any one of us might need some day.
Do the email or pick up the phone, HELLO.
