Hi there 65 Valiant,
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new vintage van. It's always exciting to bring home a new project to inject your time, money and love into.
We'd like to thank you for taking the time to post photos of your van and we hope that you continue to post as you go along.

Hi all, just a little update on the progress of our Baravan, I've been working on the external items like tow hitch and brake etc. I's amazing the amount of research needed to discover what parts were used 1964 and what parts have been changed since. Brakes were EH/EJ & wheels are HK holden. Anyhow here's some progress pictures, but progress has been slow due to the weather.
By the way I'm on the look out for some more bases for Campbell lights so that i can change the cheap plastic indicators for proper Campbell ones, I've already got the amber beehive lenses.

Great to see another Baravan!
I did some stump burning this weekend so that I can get through the newly erected fence/gate so not far off bringing mine home to start work.

Hi, Yes I've already found him and I've got amber lenses & the chrome rings waiting until I can find or manufacuter some bases for them, until then I will need to keep using the cheap imported ones.

Ahhhh - just found a thing called 'notifications' so sorry if you thought I was ignoring you.
It is still licenced.
Let ssay it is in 'original' condition. I would be happy to use as is and do up over time but the fairer sex may have different priorities ha ha.
Stump burning didn't go so well - well, that's not entirely true - had a ripper fire going, after a few hours sat around it leaning on shovels and had a beer with a friend that dropped in, even contempleted putting a grate over it and having a BBQ.....not the done thing according to the fairer sex.
Anyhooo - long and short of it, two days later when smouldering stopped there's probably about 99% of the stump still to go ha ha....anybody have a stump grinder I could borrow.......

Hi CanAm Those pesky jobs always get in the way of doing fun things like caravan repairs or restorations!!!

Hi All Just looking for replacement oyster light lenses as the one's I had before were smashed when the lightning hit our tree and sent a big shard of bark through the back window and also smashed the original ones sitting on the table inside the caravan. The lenses are the sort held in with 3 screws and approximately 7.5 inches or 190mm dia and similar to the attached photo. 2 of them are required. PS whiteish one's are preferred not pink!

Hi all just thought i would post some pictures of our 1964 Baravan we have just purchased. She is road registered but I would like to go through the brakes, wheels, electics & gas before we start using her. We will just do some minor fix ups to start with for the moment. That's one for the records your van was electrically certified on my birthdays and birth year and I'm a sparky!!! What irony ! Nice little pick up. Well done that's one lucky van! Cheers Andrew

Great Van! BTW I've just been through the process of checking out tank suppliers and of you were to consider having one made to replicate this one (maybe not exactly though), check out www.abbertanks.com.au. Cheers Phil

yes. it probably means we will need to purchase something standard to keep the costs down, but I may still approach, stainless steel, aluminium or poly fabricators - who knows some may still do custom jobs at a reasonable price.
