Vintagecaravans.com 5th Nationals - Broken Hill, NSW
Monday 28th April to Friday 2nd May 2014
For members arriving early Saturday/Sunday in Broken Hill, the local Veteran, Vintage & Classic car club will be arriving and parking outside the caravan park at approx 10.00 am on Sunday 27th to display their vehicles and will be wandering around checking out our vintage caravans and historic vehicles. Could you please have you van set up with your old wares out on display (if you have any).
Itinerary
Call in at the tourist information centre corner Bromide & Blende Streets, Broken Hill and pick up your info bag. Bags will be ready to be picked up from Friday 25th if you are in Broken Hill early.
Monday 28th April
Visit to The Royal Flying Doctor Base
Hourly tours: The first tour starts at 9:00am and the last tour starts at 4:00 pm. Only 40 in each tour, cost is $5.90 per head.

The rest of your day is free so why not drop into the Silver City Mint and Art Centre at 66 Chloride Street and see the largest canvas painting in the world. It's a Broken Hill landscape, 100 metres long by 12 metres high.
Monday Night - Auction
5.30 pm at the camp kitchen area.
Errol from SA will be your auctioneer.
Please bring along any caravan parts, collector vehicle small parts, books/collectibles or anything you want to auction off.
All money collected goes to the Royal flying doctor base in Broken Hill.
Tuesday 29th April
Visit to The School of the Air
The first of the 4 morning visits this week. Each tour starts 8:30am SHARP and as you are part of the class, you must be in the school and sitting down in the classroom by then or there will be no entry.....cost $4.40 per head.

Tuesday Night
Two up at the Palace Hotel, 227 Argent Street, Broken Hill.

Two up is only played on Friday nights but the Palace Hotel is having a special night for Vintage Vanners to attend and play two up. Meals are available at the Palace Hotel.

Silverton day trip, leave and return at your leisure.
Why not organize your own group to go in convoy and experience an authentic outback town together.
Wednesday Night - DVD Night
The caravan park at Broken Hill has an outdoor screen that we can show movies on.
So bring some thing along, like the 1954 movie The Long trailer Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz or a kids DVD.

Thursday 1st May
Free day
Dinner Night Out - Commencing at about 6:00-6:30pm
Musicians Club
276 Crystal Street, Broken Hill.
Payment is to be made on arrival at the club.
3 Course Buffet Style meals $29.50/head for adults and $10/head for children under 12

Name tags will be available Saturday 26th at the caravan park office (after the Mexican tour arrives) for you to fill in.
You will need your name tag to receive a 10% discount at Bells 1950’s Milk Bar & Museum, 160 Patton Street, Broken Hill all week. IF you DON’T want to wear a name tag, it’s not compulsory, stick it in your pocket to use for your discounts.
Communal happy hour 5:00pm nightly at and around the camp kitchen (unless you prefer to have it within your group).
Forum member Dave01 and Lil have been authorized to make a DVD of the Nationals and this will be available as soon as Dave and Lil return home and find time to put it together. Price will be at cost.
Vintagecaravan.com banners will be flying in the caravan park for the week.
Details on nats memorabilia and auction night coming soon.
